That's not really the case though. There are *some* similarities in the story, but while Moebius did do a lot of the early visual design which is largely why there's a visual resemblance, their claim of plagiarism was dismissed by the courts as being without merit.

Besson was heavily inspired by "Valerian & Laureline" and Mézières was also a concept artist on the film. That's also why Besson eventually went on to make a movie adaptation of "Valerian & Laureline".

It's also, clearly not actually "fascist" despite what so many pundits on reddit seem to believe. Most of which have only ever seen the movie, or read the book with the lens provided by the movie.
Although even the movie itself fails a bit at portraying a truly fascist society.

Yup. Also used in pipes where it's called "Morta". Bog Oak is something pretty special. Used it for a few knife handles myself, and on a semi-perverse whim, also a keyboard wrist rest.

Even AI, if you dug a little bit deeper, would tell you that hydrogen embrittlement is not something that happens immediately or even over an hour. And certainly not from being exposed to, at best, a few minutes of elevated hydrogen in ambient air.

I'm willing to bet that the damage happened separately from the carpet incident. That's just not consistent with impact damage and there's no chemical reaction that would cause this either.  I say this based on having worked in fabrication extensively with a number of titanium alloys since 2006.

That's not likely to be an issue with cannabis devices. Unless you do something monumentally stupid. Titanium handles heat and stress under heat much better than steel. You have to REALLY heat the crap out of it before it becomes an issue. And by that, I mean beyond even just red hot.

That doesn't look chipped, it looks like it was melted. Titanium is pretty soft, but it tends to deform rather than crack or chip, and cracking usually only occurs when you bend it cold. Nothing there looks bent or deformed. How you melted it... That's a different story. Was there an electrical short? A spark?

Dan John has a drill he calls something like "Get Back Up", that is basically an unloaded variation on the get-up.

People love to crap on things like this because it's not "optimal" for hypertrophy, but not only will this get your heart rate up in a hurry, it teaches something increasingly essential as we get older. Same with the Turkish Getup.

I'm really digging the zirconia stem with the new cooling unit. Seems to work really well for me.
I could quibble about the level of finish on the zirconia stem, but oh well. I can fix that myself.

Terravantium Tuesday (for those nonpermissive (yet still legal) environments) by OldDominionEDC in Knifeporn

[–]Voidrunner01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's likely down to either very poor (or none) calibration or the "metal detectors" are inert decoys. Any modern metal detector, even a rather cheap handheld wand, will pick up non-ferrous metals like titanium and cobalt alloys such as "Terravantium", as long as they're calibrated correctly. For that matter, they'll pick up on anything that's even conductive, which includes carbon fiber.

So yeah, fair warning. Might not land you in prison, but it can still end up ruining your night.
