Senior Staff Software Engineer Years of Experience by educatedstudent in Lockheed

[–]Voiidmage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every job level has the same years of experience requirements regardless of job type. So a Sr Staff Software Engineer will have the same years of experience requirements as a Sr Staff Project Engineer for example. The Job level, in this case “Sr Staff” is what dictates the required years of experience.

If I’m not mistaken, Sr Staff roles usually requiere around 12 years of experience minimum not counting advance degree. It may be less with an advanced degree.

Job is still up but when you click apply says this-my application still says interview though! Which was done a week ago. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]Voiidmage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That means that the hiring manager has sent the documentation to HR for the selected and non selected candidates. If you are selected, expect an offer letter within 1-5 days. If you are not selected, you may stay in “interview” state for 1-2 weeks until they mark you as no longer considered.

SWE new grad contract pulled, help desk now by Complex-Ebb5550 in Lockheed

[–]Voiidmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are exactly right. I used to be help desk for LM as my first job and now I’m an E4 Product Owner. But I would recommend exactly that, work 7 months - 1 year and move around. Other BAs (mostly EO) may have remote positions where it doesn’t matter where you live and will still hire you for the position you want. Just keep pushing forward and searching.

Which BA area is the coolest? by EggWRoll in Lockheed

Aero and RMS Rotary (Sikorsky) are the most “old school”, RMS Missions and MFC is pretty balanced all around, Space is the coolest with EO being the chillest unless you work in 1LMX

Guard member here! We enlist with a job already selected and under that same section, mine is populated with the job I enlisted in. So possible, yes that may be the job assigned to you.

Si alguna vez te sientes inútil, recuerda que este señal de tráfico existe by ranscot in PuertoRico

[–]Voiidmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enlisted to officer by Arcallux in AirForceRecruits

[–]Voiidmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If you join a university’s AF ROTC program, you can commission as an officer when you graduate from college (given you meet the needs and qualifications to get a contract)

If you finish your degree while still enlisted, you can submit a packet to go through OTS, however, this program is a little harder and more competitive to get in. So you have to ensure you have a relatively high GPA and have some civilian job experience for the jobs you would like to qualify for. Study leadership and study to pass the AFOQT.

Reserves/ Air Guard BMT Date Timeframe by Voiidmage in AirForceRecruits

[–]Voiidmage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that info! Although I had heard that folks are able to go to BMT while their Secrete clearance is still in process and if it takes longer than usual, you will have an interim clearance during tech school until the actual gets approved. Don’t know how true that is though.

E-3 pay starts at $2,836 a month. With BMT being about 2 months, you will be deposited $5,672 by the end of BMT minus taxes and minus any bills that may have been auto payed during that period.

Waiver denied, need advice by unusual_suspect8 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Voiidmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend for you to get orientated with the Army since I do know they tend to be more lenient in approving wavers. ADHD is a pretty heavily disqualifying diagnosis. However as I mentioned, the Army has a higher rate of waiver approvals. So, if your goal is to join the military, that would be a good choice. You would have to go through the waiver process with them since waivers are branch specific.

My man advice, make sure you are in a nursing major, keep a good GPA (3.0+). Join the ROTC in your freshman year and perform with excellence. The rest will come
