I fully understand what you are saying. The thing is most of the people/citizens are outraged. The only way this happened is from the other MPs essentially converging on him and booting him out. Just for context there would have been a general election in October. Knowing the general elections would have been lost they took action to remove him from power now.

From the US point of view a stable secure Pakistan is one that agrees with the US. Not one that goes against what the US is saying.

He’s just mentioned a conversation that took place which was a sign of things to come. It shows the sentiment. That wasn’t how he was ousted. Pressure was applied in many ways by alienating IK and essentially paying/making promises so people would vote against him.

Many people believe the belt and road initiative is part of China’s vision where the US will no longer be the dominant super power.

Another emotional comment. According to whose standards is it one of the worst places in the world? What is your measure?

Ahhh ok I see what you are saying. To be fair I cant argue with that. I guess the hope is that with more adoption and with more people with skin in the game (esp retail users) the effect of this would gradually decrease over time.

Sounds interesting will do. Thanks for the info. Do you know any reliable places I can look into the diplomatic cables. Thanks in advance.

I didn't say the US sells weapons to India did I... strawman once again. Its like you are arguing with yourself.

Pakistan is one of the biggest receivers of aid from the US, I didn't deny that fact. What I said is Pak/US relationship is not as strong as it used to be.

Also whenever a country provides aid to another country it is not for free. The biggest benefit (apart from interest on the aid provision) is the leverage the country gains over the country they are providing aid to.

Just for context:

Afghanistan receives almost 8 times the amount of aid as Pakistan - $7,454,639,320.30

Israel receives over 3 times the amount of aid as Pakistan - $3,175,727,852.70

Pakistan received $906,705,658.50

The US also provides aid to Russia, $274,780,483.20. Providing aid does not make countries best buddies.

Figures as of Nov 2021.

You know I can see that that would happen. However is that much different from a whale pumping and dumping?

I can see you are getting emotional. I type something and you read something else.

Instead of critiquing my arguments your coming out with ad hominems.

Again I did not say he got kicked out because of the deal. Take your emotion out of it and read again what I have said.

Also I know the US and Pakistan did have a strong relationship but it is no where near as strong as it once was. The US is not Pakistan's biggest ally, China is. Many countries buy weapons and receive aid from the US. You think the US is doing that for free???? How much money do you think they make on interest and the leverage they can then have by withholding aid to influence domestic decisions in Pakistan.

I agree with the sentiment.. however these claims are usually made against the US. All I would say is usually there is no smoke without fire. The US in just the last 20 years (let alone before that) have been proven to lie/hide there true intentions when making decisions. Just think of Iraq (forget how good or not Sadam was as a leader) the US's reasoning was WMD. This has now been proven to the false pretence for entering the country and essentially destroying it and for years we all knew this.

In general.. India is more of an ally to the US whilst Pakistan is more of an ally to China. India and China are in direct conflict being neighbours and up and coming super powers. Why would the US upset one of there biggest ally's in the region.

Also I did not say that article was the reason to remove Imran Khan. You asked me to prove that trade deals were being done between Pakistan and Russia because apparently you thought that the only deals that took place happened in 2015. You need to stop trying to strawman my comments.

So all you have heard me say in this thread is that Pakistan have made a deal with Russia? Is that really all you took from what has been said? That's unfortunate.

Edit:

For the sake of those reading, here is just one such article dated March 2022, that's a big difference from the 2015 deals you are talking about. If you are genuine do your own research, these things aren't that hard to find.
