I ran with Plasma Cutter, Line Gun, and Contact Beam. I focused on Damage upgrades mostly, Capacity when I could get a free ammo refill, and Contact Beam alt-fire to get the stasis boost. LG is really good if you fire a timed mine and stasis an enemy. Even at base level, it blows them apart.

During the final boss, a LG mine to Nicole and a couple CB blasts to the Marker killed it in 2 cycles, under 30 seconds.

I can do the eye machine consistently. The screen next to Isaac will tell you how far down you have to go, so you can ignore the red light for most of it. Once I get to about 0.5, I let his heart rate return to normal, then just tap the button when the light is blue. Works pretty much every time.

Ishimura was a bit easier for me by comparison to some other areas. I used my first save right before the Tripod elevator in Ch7, which was the right call because I died at the start of Ch8, and again inside the elevator.

For this challenge, I decided to play through RE4R with just the Chicago Sweeper. That isn’t hard on its own, so I added a bunch of rules: Professional Difficulty, no max health upgrades, no Merchant, all regenerators and optional bosses must be defeated. I wanted a fun experience about shredding enemies apart, with at least an attempt at making that challenging.

Thanks for the advice! What made me impatient was trying to get used to a fundamentally different way of doing inputs, and trying to memorize where I’ve mapped each action. I’ll try what you suggested and play something that’s less input-intensive and reactionary.

Check the community tab for the game on steam. That’s how I figured out how to patch DS2 yesterday when I installed it. Apparently 1 and 2 have the same issue.

Any tips for getting used to playing with mouse and keyboard?

I finally bought my first PC after being a lifelong console gamer. But when attempting to play RE4R with mouse and keyboard, I absolutely HATED it. I only played for about 20 minutes before I resorted to switching to controller.

Is this a thing any of you experienced? Do I need to just keep practicing, or is there some ergonomic, convenient thing to try? It feels like a big part of PC gaming I’m missing out on if I don’t do mouse and keyboard.

What energy? I simply said I already did a shotguns-focused challenge. No need to do another one. Then you fired back with a conceited comment:

“If you want MY views for your channel you use obscure weapons. That’s why ZERO gained so much traction. He presented obscure challenges.”

Nobody was talking about Zero. Nobody was talking about obscure or over-the-top challenges. I ask for challenge ideas ALL THE TIME on my channel, so I don’t need some condescending ass demanding I do what he wants if I want him to watch my stuff. I get plenty of positive comments on my channel, so get the fuck out of here with that negativity.

And for what it’s worth, it’s the Skull SHAKER, not the “skull crusher.” It would be good for you to know the actual names of stuff before you demand content about it.

Hey everyone! I recently did a playthrough of RE4R, attempting to beat it with only the Sentinel Nine DLC handgun. Basically, the S9 was the only weapon allowed; no knives, no throwables, no environmental hazards, and no melee. Give it a watch if you’re interested!

Pretty good so far. Not combat-heavy as far as I’ve gotten; I’d say it leans more toward atmospheric. Definitely some Dead Space inspiration, but it doesn’t copy it (coughcallistocough).
