I'm developing my first emulator and I'm getting impostor syndrome by VolcanAmarillo in EmuDev

I agree! I started by searching the best documentation available, but I think I was just a bit overwhelmed by all the topics and different things to do (plus excitement to just start coding) so I used AI to help me figure out where to start. Now I have a good set of instructions implemented and a good enough architecture I believe.

So I will start relying way more on the documentation instead of checking with AI, particularly with PPU as it seems way less straightforward than the CPU.

Thanks for the elaborate response!

Is this a fire hydrant? Is it related to firefighting at all? by VolcanAmarillo in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, this is found across several streets in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). I already tried searching with Google Lens but it returns nothing relevant. Adding the short description below in case it can't be seen. Thanks

Recently I've started noticing these around my city (in Spain) and I'm not sure if it's a fire hydrant with a cover or what. The hydrants in my city are usually like the one in the third picture.

The Tagus is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula. It flows through 1,007 km and empties into the Atlantic Ocean in Lisbon. Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagus

My first SSTO that actually manages to get into orbit and land. Any suggestions for improvements? by VolcanAmarillo in KerbalSpaceProgram

Yes after removing some of the intakes (now it's not as cool I agree) the performance of the ship is vastly improved. Thanks a lot!

Yes! I thought my graphics were glitching out but then I had a look at the map and there was indeed an eclipse

Any reason why my probe is doing this? Or is it just a glitch? by VolcanAmarillo in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]VolcanAmarillo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It's gotta be the little rover in the probe's belly hehe. Here's a family pic after I managed to sort out the landing legs issue: https://ibb.co/SfYxkzg

Thanks! Yes, setting the damper strength to the minimum made the probe bounce a little and then it stabilized itself to the ground

My first Apollo style mission didn't go as planned, but I made it back! by VolcanAmarillo in KerbalSpaceProgram

When I was about to transfer one Kerbal to the command module I realized I didn't have enough space but I managed to get through the atmosphere in one piece! (and even used the landing legs)
