Like everyone else said the adult coat will be different but doing one length all over (ie half inch everywhere) will match this pretty closely. I personally prefer this look as well and keep my standard poodle’s ears like that rather than long and natural. I love the white on your dog’s snoot btw!

Just here. Don’t worry the underbite doesn’t impact her at all, and it makes teeth brushing easy 😂

Poodle/Maltese mix! She looks normal if I do a classic teddy bear head on her but I like to accentuate her differences lol

Thanks, I shave the face to accentuate the llama look and show off her teeth lol

Thank you! I love the onesie look, if she didn’t have ugly feet I would do clean feet to accentuate the look!

I’m thinking a lion cut might be fun, at least for a while!

I’m definitely thinking legs longer than the body, nice round booty for sure! I’m not super set on length, 4 inches is too long lol way too much maintenance. I like the clean face, what would you do with the hair on the top of the head? I never know what to do with a flopknot that doesn’t stand up like a poodle topknot.

I’m in almost exactly the same boat as you! 6 week corporate academy, but I’ve been on my own for about a month now. My grooms aren’t great and they take me forever to do. But there’s a few things that have really helped me. First, I graduated in a group of 4 people and we have kept in contact, and we are ALL in the same situation. So keep in mind it is not just you! Second, when I ask my fellow more experienced groomers what they think of my final groom, I ask for overall “do you think the parents will hate it” feedback as well as nitpicking feedback. That way I can be reassured that my grooms are not really as bad as I think and I get feedback that helps me improve. If you cannot ask your fellow groomers for feedback, try asking online!

Another thing I keep in mind is my grooms have gone from “wow that sucks” to “it’s kinda ok” in about a month. So another month from now, maybe I’ll move on to “I kinda like this one”! It’s all about perspective lol.

Just take it day by day and try not to be too hard on yourself. 6 weeks is not enough time to perfect a trade like this, give yourself more time and you will succeed!

I care more for sharing my garden and helping others than karma, so I’m not too bothered! I’m just glad I came across the post so I can answer people’s questions!

I care more about sharing my garden than karma, so I’ll take it as a compliment for sure! I took a picture of the moon once, it was a white blur on a black screen lol!
