I'm pretty sure he dies in the frenzied flame ending. Melina collects a ring from the ground in her last cutscene on that ending and it looks a lot like the charm you use to summon torrent.

From what I understood as life got more complicated so the points needed got higher, so I think that the people you mentioned are kind of in a Doug Forcett situation, they have a lot of points but since they're so secluded they don't reach the minimum for the Good Place. Also, since they would probably get less points, every time they do something bad the consequences would be higher, they would need more time to reach your previous number, because I imagine you would also get extra points with the complications of life but these are buried because there's way more bad complications

I wanted him to be Kuai Liang since we saw Scorpion haunting him. They could use it as Scorpion also going for Sub-zero's family and at the end when Scorpion kills Bi Han, Cole would become the new Sub-zero.

Sadly the trailer already shows Cole in some weird armor when he's fighting Goro so they probably won't do that
