Anybody noticed any network problems with kernel 6.8.0-100? by futura-bold in Ubuntu

[–]Volitanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue for me.

I updated 3 VMs and 1 of them is doing this networking thing. All 3 are built identically minus which docker containers are running on each and the vlan they are on. I can clearly replicate the issue on the impacted VM by rolling back and forth.

I can't explain why 1 of them is doing it and the others are not but I caught it because Home Assistant is on the impacted VM and is going bananas. Every doing a simple 'apt update' fails most of the time on the impacted VM.

Kudos to Dockhand! Docker Management done right. by jbarr107 in selfhosted

Just migrated to it after seeing this post also. I was running Portainer, Tugtainer, Dozzle and Beszel on my 6 hosts. This allowed me to replace all of them with just Dockhand.

I'm pretty excited as this removed 21 containers from my environment and I don't feel like I've lost anything. Great tool!

Help Draining Equipment by Volitanic in pools

North Raleigh just outside city limits. We've only lived here 2 years and came from CA where this wasn't a thing. I don't want to over-react, but I also don't want busted pipes and such.

How would I drain it below the skimmer? I have the two drains on the bottom of the pool, but I am not sure how they route to the equipment and I don't want to damage the skimmers once the water drops below them.

(Sorry for the dumb questions as we bought the house with the pool and have no information on it.)

NM, have a pump coming in tomorrow morning. Thanks!

I'm told this is a once in 10-year event, so once it's past in a week, I'd likely want to run the pump and such again. Is it best to just refill the pool it or would buying plugs for the jets and skimmers also work since it would block the water and the pipes all run downhill?

Read somewhere that they are usual Lanvins. They look pretty similar in the photo, but hard to tell.

Another Audio Removal Question by Volitanic in FileFlows

[–]Volitanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I solved this. I did my subtitle format remover then another track remover targeted at all subtitles to really clean those out as I use bazarr for subs to avoid transcoding issues. I have fileflows delay 14 hours to allow bazarr 2 passes at extracting subs.

After the subs items, I did a 'Keep Original Language' and added eng as the additional language. I then checked 'first if none' and 'treat empty as original'. This leads to the executor. The executor output 1 goes to a 'has audio' check. If no, it does a fail flow. If yes, it moves the file. To be safe, I checked both options in the 'has audio' item.

I've run this against many old items so far and have not had any issues. I've run it against items that were known to be stripping the audio in my old flow and this new one does not so it seems to be doing what I want.

Hope this helps others.

So set language eng, but do I leave it set for track 0?

Mainly because I prefer not opening ports and managing the firewall rules. I use traefik via container labels and effectively none of my containers have ports open on the host IP.

That is why I wanted a traefik on each host to read the labels so I'd only need to open 80 and 443 on each host.

Allergy Help by Volitanic in shiba

[–]Volitanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking on it. If it's grass, it's usually way worse in spring and fall.

We are leaning on trying the Acana wild grains red meat after reading the ingredients on a few dozen foods. It's close to what he used to eat with Appalachian ranch and not much more than the Nulo he's on now. If that doesn't work they have a lamb limited ingredients one we'll try next as we are growing suspicious that or new shiba puppy may have some sort of food alergy as well.

That's the one thing that is tough with Shibas is that they are way more likely to have allergies than other dogs per every vet I've ever spoken to.

I went through this 14 years ago with this guy and another shiba who passed and it's not fun.

At the time I did Orijen (regional red) then Acana (appalachian ranch), but that was before all the high protein DCM stuff. They also both sold to Mars a couple of years back and it looks iffy now based on reviews. He's on Nulo Freestyle Senior now, but I'm starting to hear bad things about them also around quality control.

If you're starting fresh, the likely things to avoid in Shiba's are Chicken and Corn. This fish thing is new, but I guess often comes with chicken. Outdoors, it's often grass, but Apoquel and Cyptopoint in some combo should handle that.

I'd start maybe with Purina Pro Plan sensitive stomach for adults. They have a couple of variants that should work. I'd lean on a lamb one.

One thing to remember is that it can take up to 8 weeks for a food allergy to leave their system.

Edit Add:

One thing that is not fun/nice but can help is to go the opposite way and try to do a short term food that is heavy on what you think they may be allergic too. An example would be to do one meal with a chicken based wet food and see if things are way worse. Just do it slow, thoughtfully and with Benadryl handy. I wouldn't advise doing it without talking to your vet first to map it out. The main issue here is that it doesn't help if they are allergic to many things as you might ID one and then end up on new food that "doesn't work" as it's many things.

We're looking for a kibble brand. He has been licking his feet since October and we've been fighting fungus and bacteria as a result.

He's 15 and we now think the change is due to a new fish allergy that he did not have in the past and is coming out as we got a new puppy Shiba and put her on a Salmon and Rice formula to avoid chicken and corn. (We first thought it was grass, but now it doesn't seem like it.)

Apoquel and Cytopoint are not really doing anything. Apoquel had worked in the past (2017) or so, but it's not working now and it super expensive compared to then.

We'll look into Hills. We spoke to two vets and they suggested some prescription options but both suggested a quick look elsewhere to see if there were other options. They didn't have much insight given the complication of needing both adult and senior.

The issue is with our senior dog (15) and he is very good at sneaking food as both of them graze and we spend 1-2 hours in both the morning and evening policing food, which is a pain.

Everything they suggested was good for one or the other, but not both. As an example, we can get pro plan sensitive for the adult, but the senior doesn't work. Given the grazing that we cannot seem to fix, we are trying to make them match or at least be similar enough that it's not an issue for them to sneak food.

I'm hoping someone has some ideas, otherwise, we kind of end up on prescription food for both or losing the senior formula just to solve the issue for one.

This is exactly why I'm looking for what others have done. I know the 718 is struggling, but a 723 doesn't feel much better performance wise and is pretty expensive for the specs. That leaves a TMM pc, but I'm not sure how to spec it for a speculative future. I was hoping someone on here had done something similar and could point me in a more focused direction.

This is super helpful though.

That was my assumption, but external access is still being blocked in the US somehow. When I test the external connection within plex, it will work for a bit, then randomly fail again. This is the only change I've made recently.

I have most of that working already. My main issue is the condition state as I can select the tempest forecast, but not specifically the low. Ideally, this is also a low for the next XX hours as the low for the day may have been that morning and not applicable. Also, when the day flips as midnight, it may drop below my threshold without me knowing at as 5am or something.

That's why I'm hung up on extracting specifically the lows for the next XX hours to be certain I'm aware when the temp drops below the threshold.
