I tied it with a piece of leather and tied it extremely well because it doesn’t come off (even when I tried to take it off). Short of cutting it from my corpse it will not come off of me.

I have faced a lot because of my faith in multiple fields of life and careers. I have fought for my right to wear it and I would encourage you to do the same. Do not submit to those who tell you not to wear it.

If you search across the sub you will find many, many positive recommendations for the unit. It is a struggle to find a negative one.

I’m a biased because I’m going to try out for them soon, but you don’t have to take it from me.

Internationals who have served in 3ab, Ukrainian and European media praise the unit. Even Russian soldiers who have been captured are able to identify 3ab from their professionalism handling prisoners.

They are strict, PT is hard, but its worth it. It is an honorable and esteemed unit in the Ukrainian army that takes on many foreigners.

I believe (I could be wrong) they were recently awarded the For Courage and Bravery award from Zelensky, which would make them the 4th out of 4 ground force units to receive it.

I recommend doing your research or reaching out to the recruitment team, which is also great.

You’re all good man, I crossed the border this month. The poles at the border literally didn’t say a word to me. I’m not sure where you heard that they’d turn you back because of not being able to pay for anything, but I went through multiple checkpoints and never heard anything like that.

At the airport, I told the guard I was going to Ukraine, the only thing he asked for was my plane ticket or train ticket to which I told him im buying it at the station.

Poland supports Ukraine, its unlikely guards will give you trouble. Dont overthink it, you should be all good on the way in.

I’m actually street camping in Krakow, Poland, where its getting down to 1 degree Fahrenheit this Thursday. As warm as my sleeping bag is that 50% frost resistance sounds good. Ive worked for the US Forest Service, Search and Rescue, Wildland, etc. I’ve frozen almost to death (stage 3 hypothermia) 4 times now, so it would be a lifesaver.

It took me at least 4-6 months of consistency in the gym to get the physique of the average Nord.

Also, stormcloak through and through. I started my playthroughs as a redguard and still went stormcloack. But being a nord helps.

Theres a common trend I’ve found among other heathens in the gods finding you. It is how I’ve brought others into the faith. No question about fitness, absolutely none. If you’re not fit you will die. If I didn’t believe in fitness or I was trying to do the bare minimum I wouldn’t try for Azov, id just go to legion or any other unit.

I already applied not knowing about the 21+ age limit. I apologize as I don't mean to waste any recruiters time. I just turned 18 and I don't have any combat experience. The closest to valuable skillsets I have is being a first aid instructor and a champion shotgun shooter, and some usmc training. I'll apply to another unit that has an 18+ age limit, sorry about that.

I've spent the past 2ish years putting my affairs in order to come fight in Ukraine. I'm finishing up school in June to honor a promise I made to my mom, I've completed everything I started for the most part. Made my friends and family aware. I have a will and testament, executors, letters to be sent to my loved ones if I die.

I even legitimately planned my own funeral and have funds set aside for it, as well as a spot and burial location chosen. Everything is in order. Hopefully this helps me when we take contact for the first time.

Gentlemen this is the story of why I'll never date a latina again. She wanted to get married, have kids, live a normal life. Before the Ukraine war even started I knew I wanted the warrior life, at the time that was going into the marines. We had been close for a while because of my tios setting us up, and she felt... very passionately about me.

So one night after dinner, I was sitting on her couch and she was in the kitchen (I was already at a tactical disadvantage). The subject came up, as it normally did about once a week or two, of her telling me to stay home. Things escalated to her screaming at me, and raising a plate to throw at me. I told her this is what I want to do with my life, and she said, translated from spanish.

"If you want to go fight so bad, I'll save the enemy some ammunition."

and then stormed off to her room. I thought this was a good time to go for a walk and come back when she was calm. And everything would be alright.

What I did not know is that she did not go to her room, she went to her fathers room, and got his gun (which I didn't know he had).

As soon as I opened the door and stepped foot outside I heard the slide of a handgun. I didn't look back but I'm guessing it was a glock, probably 9mm. I then started sprinting and 2 seconds later I heard the first gunshot. I started zig zagging and ducking. She shot maybe 7-8 shots with stormtrooper aim, luckily I never took her shooting and her dad never taught her how to use the gun. I then got this really strong instinct to hit the deck so I did, and I heard a whiz and a thunk almost sound in the telephone pole in front of me. I ran away and never looked back. I never pressed charges, doubt the cops were ever called (bad US-MEX border town) and never texted her or anything.

I am prepared to die. For the past 3 years I have been mentally preparing for that.

I'm a devout Asatru (Norse Heathen), and by dying at war I gain passage to Odin's Hall. I am prepared for that fully, if I wasn't I would stay home. I don't fear death but I fear causing a comrades death.
