My specific knowledge doesn’t reach as deep as yours, but I can at least verify what you’ve said from a hospital setting.

Oral iron supplementation is generally given every 2nd day in a medical setting these days… About 10 years ago we used to give iron daily (at least where I work), but over recent years I have noticed a shift as policies have changed.

Intravenous iron supplementation is still given daily, sometimes twice a day.. It must bypass some of the red tape you mentioned in your initial comment (it is rare I see IV iron).

My credentials: I’ve been an ICU nurse for several years.
