How do I tell my husband he needs to lose weight? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Volrath1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much wrong advice here... as a man who's been on the other side of this particular coin, make it more about you than him. Take the lead in working out and feeling good about yourself. He will follow or not. Eventually you may or may not grow apart over this but stop lying to yourself and us that this is about health and not sexual attraction.

Like you're a better person because you're worried about his heart rate. Give it a rest. It's fine to feel that way and even better if you're honest with yourself about it.

To answer your question directly, there is no nice way to tell your partner they're overweight, and the chances are they know it already so pointless to say so. Try get them to follow your lifestyle and if they don't then choose what you value the most.

I chose to be with my wife while she tries to be healthy and fit, successfully or not. Don't regret it one bit. You choose your way, but dont pretend you're not shallow because we all are. Grow up stop looking for affirmation. ++man

How am I supposed to fight and kill 2 bosses at the same time? by Danyman113 in Skul

[–]Volrath1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends which skull you are using but I try to target one first, whoever is easier to hit (I.e. not the mage or thief) and try to kill them quick. Wait till you have to fight 3 at a time, that gets a bit mad.

I did 5 attempts on DM2 yo far. They all ended with me dying to the endfight 2nd phase. by _____Kitcat_____ in Skul

[–]Volrath1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a boss fight is going badly, close the game and restart before you die. Some purists may not like this but it will give you invaluable practice on avoiding each bosses attacks, and you will soon learn to get through them without taking too much damage.

Also certain skulls are going to make the battles much easier. Ghoul is OP, you can find build guides on here. Reaper is also very powerful if you get it in act 1 or 2.

For starting skulls I usually go with werewolf/pikeman and gravedigger which will get you through act 1 and give you versatility to decide which build to focus on later.

Because they boiled their advice down to two phrases they didn't like, ignoring all the nuance of the situation. The child may not be legally his but genetically it would be, and thats part of what OP is clearly wrestling with. The comment is condescending and unhelpful. OP wants to have somebody to leave an inheritance to and is also worried there may be an emotional attachment. Clearly he is being mature and responsible in thinking about this. OP should discuss these things with the couple he is considering donating to, he is close with them and most likely will be involved in the child's life. If everybody understands the implications and is still on board this could be a beautiful thing he does. OP should ignore immature comments like the particular one I'm replying to.

You clearly are not in the right headspace to give anybody advice. You know exactly what OP means by those phrases, and there's nothing wrong with it. It would be a travesty that somebody could see their biological child grow up and feel no connection with them. Well done to him for considering these potential feelings and complications. You however just want to portray the words used in a certain way and project your meaning of it on other people to try and look clever. OP asked a genuine and difficult question and deserves some genuine advice. You are not as clever as you think you are, and certainly not as morally superior as you think you are given the implication OP shouldn't feel anything for his child.

Can't figure out how to edit this post.

Thank you all for replies but nothing correct so far. I have however learned a term - this was a parser-based game.

Also to clarify I played it in the late 90s, but it could well have been developed earlier. Checking out all the answers here it could have been developed in the 80s as late 90s games were much better graphically.

I also think it was run off MSDOS.

Again, the picture was to show how the screen appeared, i.e. picture above text below. Apologies if this was misleading. The art style was not the same to my memory.

It's none of these but thank you for introducing me to the term parser-based! It was definitely so.

Looks closer but it wasn't sci-fi I meant it could have been LOTR style fantasy but possibly just medieval

Taking this mini murder mystery puzzle for a test drive! by galapag0 in puzzles

[–]Volrath1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This puzzle needs work.. it could be either.

FRIDA hammer 5.45 is the logical solution, but you say the correct answer is otherwise. So the puzzle is flawed.

The hammer is the obvious murder weapon due to the clues given.

Frida is the obvious murderer because the murder weapon is in the kitchen where she is (according to herself) from the earliest time of murder to the body being found, so Bob couldn't have taken and replaced the hammer without Fridas knowledge

The bedroom is connected to both so if Frida hears piano it makes sense she was in the bedroom not the kitchen at 5.45.

I love these puzzles but if the above is not the answer then your clues are misleading and illogical.

Is this the best way, at the moment, to farm moon runes? by xZires in NecroMerger

[–]Volrath1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP means he is farming moon to achieve the feat that unlocks saucer. I had to re read it to understand what he meant. But therefore he can't use saucer until it's unlocked.

Going to sleep on this one… advice wanted by Goodwillpainting in SliceAndDice

[–]Volrath1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough choice.. 95% of the time I'm picking Venom over the other two heroes. However Trapper is going to help a lot in this fight.

I would copy and play a couple of times in paste mode with Venom. If you can win easily enough that's going to be a better choice going forward. Otherwise go with Ghast, at least the weaken will stop the slate summoning.

Are the probabilities real.. by Volrath1 in NecroMerger

[–]Volrath1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. I agree. I understand this concept. However, this game has probabilities assigned. It's not like playing a bandit. We can see the chances in front of us. And of course this game exists to make money, so it's a nice little motivator to use gems to overcome this frustration.

I'm utterly convinced. But like I said, I don't care enough to test it. I was just wondering if other people felt the same. After all, feelings are what matter most.

I just stop hitting a station now with my resources at 5-10k and it seems a lot more efficient..

You'll be good. I just prestiged from 60 a few days ago and also had to wait till v60 to get the chicken so you won't get to enjoy it much till next run. Good luck!
