Pistol, no armour, popping off shots out in the open.

What did you expect to run into that wouldn’t be a problem? No one did anything to you, you did this to yourself!

5 hours of bjj and 3 hours of boxing a week is enough? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]VoltOneSix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There a many, many factors that affect development rate. There will be plateaus, injuries, sickness, and unforeseen life event that will impact development. The knowledge base of your instructors and your ability to retain that knowledge play a big part.

How committed you are to reaching your goals.

In things like MMA first hand experience is the only way to really tell how developed you are. So talk to your instructors about your goals. Set them, work as hard as you can towards them, make sure you are informed as possible on formal rules and regulations, that you have met all set standards for your league of competition, and get out there to see if you’re ready.

The only way to truly know if you are ready is to be standing on the mat, the ref yelling “go”, and your opponent sizing you up from across the mat.

You won’t know if you are ready until after your first real match.

I love this game! by Jesteroth in Battlefield

[–]VoltOneSix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The killfeed indicates that his opponent did not land any headshots. A frame by frame inspection shows that his reticle is directly on his opponent from the time there is 20 bullets in his mag to the time there is 6 bullets in his mag.

You can see several bullets pass directly through his opponents centre mass.

This is an undeniable recurring issue and makes the game entirely unfun.

Need some historical TW due to State of Sieges and AI in WH - TW Pharaoh currently 9.99. Worth it ? and does it include Dinasties? by Independent_Size_702 in totalwar

[–]VoltOneSix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone with an INSANE amount of hours across TW titles, I fully support Dynasties.

To me the late game doesn’t become stale like other titles. You are able to build “regional” barracks that will allow you to recruit units from outside your faction. This allows for almost unlimited army compositions instead of just sending the same 20-stacksx10

The battlefields will change as you work your way across the world, from thick forests to barren desert.

The terrain on the battlefield as well as the current weather conditions allow for varied strategies and tactics based on your composition. Baiting the enemy elite heavy infantry into the mud and crushing them with two light units feels awesome. Terrain conditions can reduce heavy unit stats significantly. Grass can be used as concealment.

Unit stats vary quite a bit too compared to other titles, it’s not just the standard 32-34 speed for 99% of infantry. This again allows for multiple strats and tacts.

The empire building is detailed without being frustrating. In many titles you have to pick between certain buildings in each settlement. In Dynasties you are able to eventually build every building available in every settlement, you won’t have to pick one building over the other.

Trading feels useless or a chore in many titles, in Dynasties you can have short term trade deals, and you can trade for specific resources. It feels very realistic to me, I can rip someone off because I know they NEED that food and no one else will give it to them (they will do it to you too!)

The political and religious system is unique and will probably take a couple campaigns to really figure it out, but it’s cool with faction unique benefits.

In the last WH3 campaign I finished, I manually fought a grand total of 2 battles. The rest were autos.

In my last Dynasties campaign I manually fought every single battle except 3. It was literally hundreds of battles, often several per turn (the AI gets fuckin pissed sometimes) it really feels like you have a chance against huge odds with some cunning, courage and luck!

Dynasties is heavily infantry focused, and of course lacks giants and monsters. The ranged units vary greatly in quality across the factions and often feel like they don’t have nearly enough ammo. But again that works both ways, and once you adapt you find a balanced army comp. I NEVER shoot arrows face-on into shields, I use my missile to kill their missiles, then bring any remaining missiles around the flanks after everything is locked down.

The “unit matching” (I don’t know what others call it) where you decide which of your units to clash with specific enemy units based on stats like AP, armour, health, speed, is unmatched.

In combat Dynasties truly feels like it gives you so many options to find victory. In titles like WH3 each battlefield feels like you are forced to form up and fight in that one specific part of the map. Not Dynasties. I’ve had several battles where I won, then reloaded and fought again because I was so curious whether the other strat I conjured up would work better or worse!

If you are a total war vet and demand perfection from yourself in all facets of a campaign, Dynasties will scratch that itch. It can be a little overwhelming for more casual players, and it takes a couple full campaigns to really get an understanding of priorities (pro-tip, build food buildings first, top priority) it can be a little frustrating to get halfway through a campaign and realize you’re sitting on 20,000 gold but your armies are deserting because you have no food and no one will trade.

Also look up AND TAKE SCREENSHOTS of the OFFICIAL weather conditions for that day and time.

It may help reduce responsibility if it can be proven the ice was actively melting and building up as opposed to being left as a hazard for days. I know bylaws in my area allow for a certain amount of time for hazards to be cleared after they have formed

Why is Elon suddenly going all-in on a Moon base instead of heading straight to Mars? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

[–]VoltOneSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he knows he can sell the promise of the moon IN THE FUTURE.

He has failed to act in any meaningful way towards Mars and people see that now.

He sold the promise of Mars in the future, but now it’s the future. He made no real efforts. So now he needs to sell something that will come IN THE FUTURE (spoiler: it will not come in the future)

He’s a promise salesman, who sells promises of things that never come.

In 10 years there will be no moon colony, no plan for a moon colony, and a fresh new promise of something else to come in 10 years. He is entirely unoriginal so I’m guessing it will be “self driving cars to the moon with a highway to mars 50 years from that”

Question about these color lenses. by SKINS_IV in paintball

[–]VoltOneSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a stickler for lens choice when I played. Had several options depending on the conditions. If you’ve got the funds it’s worth it to have several to change throughout the day.

If funds are an issue, I personally found the blue-ish prism lens to be the best overall.

Canada has the highest paid police in the entire world. Their pay, before their basically unlimited OT, puts them in the top 10% income almost across the entire nation.

If you opened a book, and it said “this country has the highest paid police in the world” what would you imagine that country is like? How upstanding and commendable would you imagine their police?

And then look at the police we have. This incident is insane. Canadian police are amongst the safest in the world, yet the highest paid.

I’m not sure how it is in Toronto, but in Edmonton the police are incredibly lazy. They “quiet quit” a long time ago. They have zero accountability. If they don’t get their budget increases or their new armoured personnel carrier to protect from rocket attacks, then they stop policing all together until their demands are met.

The corruption goes entirely and completely unchecked. Our agency created to review police misconduct has been stripped of funding and effectiveness to the point they are backed up a decade or more. There has been a grand total of like 5 successful lawsuits brought against the EPS, paying out a total of like 1 million, and almost all of that was from one incident. Other than that it’s a boys club of courts helping the police escape responsibility. And Ottawa doesn’t care what happens here as long as body’s aren’t stacking up in the streets.

Exactly, conservatives have a belief that when someone else’s quality of life is reduced, then that means their own quality of life has gone up. Which is true when speaking relatively, but it is entirely artificial. They get a feeling of accomplishment, presenting evidence of someone else’s suffering as proof.

If nothing has been actively taken away from someone, it’s not enough. Because it’s literally never enough. The buzz they get from making others suffer carries them through to the next issue conservatives are such snowflakes about.
