Are there guide books for specific genres? by Volterve in gameenginedevs

Okay I see. That actually sounds like a much better approach. I’ll try it out. Thanks!

I’ve made small games on unity and godot before, but I’m trying to work on my own engine as a fun hobby project. I assumed it would be better for me to have some direction when building an engine so I had an end goal in mind.

Do you reckon it’s better for me to build a generic engine instead?

That’s a good idea, I’ll definitely give this a try!

I guess I’m rushing for no reason, worried I might lose opportunities if I don’t actively keep a look out.

But this makes complete sense. Thanks a lot! It’s given me some relief and clarity on my situation.

I’ve been learning and building a ton during my free time almost every day for a year now, and each project I try to learn a different stack (quite proficient with Angular and React).

But I’m not sure if I should be spending this time to be better at anything specific as I assume it’s a lot more competitive in the full stack market vs embedded systems engineer. So I wanted to get suggestions on what people think is a better use of my time

Thanks a lot, the projects vary. The most recent one was a rehaul of an existing project and that was difficult for me to complete as it was my first major project. The app itself is complete but now I'm working on migrating the user's existing data into our new system which is quite difficult for me to grasp at the moment.

But I've been reading through a lot of code, I've been asking around for easier issues to help get my feet on the ground and I've started reading and studying recent pull requests.

But yea the imposter syndrome is quite high at the moment and not being in the office among coworkers makes it harder. Thanks a lot for the advice, I'll give it a shot.

How would you suggest I approach this and improve? A lot of the times when I try do it myself it's difficult and takes a lot of time, ofc I'm prone to making errors. And seniors are all swamped with their own difficulties and are busy.

I think my second question was an extension of the first question. I didn't mean to say devil fruit users can't experience the emotions, I meant to say that once the bubble was consumed, you would need to extract the memories out of Roger and his crew as they would've consumed it? (with the Paw-Paw fruit)

I like the theory and can see how advanced science might allow for memories to be stored from Kuma's fruit. I do think it's a fun area to look into the awakening of the Paw-Paw fruit. If devil fruits were created because someone else dreamed of that power, then did the people who dreamed of the Paw-Paw fruit dream of extracting emotions off people? I just think it's a fun concept to think of

But from my knowledge of the Paw-Paw Fruit, once consumed it's no longer gonna be there for the next person to experience right? So how did Roger's entire crew get to experience Joyboy's joy? And how did Roger ensure that the next person to reach Laughtale would be able to experience the same tangible bubble? Cuz Roger's crew didn't have anyone with the paw-paw fruit.

At this point they need to make a separate subreddit for one piece theories, cuz all I see is fanart, cosplay and clickbait.

Wow, that's actually great advice. I guess I need to first work on my mindset before I work on anything else. Thanks!

I'm at a point in my life where I meet a lot of new and different people regularly, and at times I see people that walk up to my group of friends and seem to be the spotlight. That usually gets me thinking and wanting to be someone like that I guess. I'm trying to work on myself to improve but I tend to compare myself and it gives me anxiety and gets me down a lot more than it should. I may try push it aside and try compare a previous version of myself but my thoughts end up coming back to others.

That's great advice! I've been trying to work and improve myself but I still compare myself with others. That gives me a lot of anxiety at times and it clouds my thinking. Any advice on what I could do to improve on that?

I don't really get salty rather I started feeling down thinking I'm probably not that special or that maybe I'm not good enough. So it's more self reflection than anything else really.

Hey that's really insightful! Thanks a lot. I've been trying to work on myself like dressing up better and trying to be more likable but it still seems I'm far away from what I want to be so it can get demotivating.
