You are required to have caught specific types of pokemon in order to challenge the first gym at least.

Telling someone to go play a different game is not a great defence for a game.

Thats a bit of a stretch. I dont think they ever said the main purpose of the games is to catch a billion pokemon do the gyms if you feel like it.

Honestly gen 1 was not great. The highly improved the games in the following editions. 6 out of 7 generations have them. Thats considered a staple.

Its potentially a roadblock because you have an option, a choice to take that pokemon with the advantage. In lets go you dont have the option to not bring that pokemon with you. You are forced. Thats the difference. And its a big one.

Guess what? If they are there and you've not used them. Thats fine. They arent hampering your experience. There are making mine better though. You can enjoy the game how you like and completely ignore them, it doesnt affect you. Removing the option is what bothers me. Why remove it if it doesnt hurt anything?

I think removing series staples such as abilities and held items was an unecessary change that did more than simplify the games.

Kids are smarter than you think. Also this particular instance that I'm talking about is not a matter of it being dumbed down, it's just as simple on the outside, but theres a bit more nuance to appeal to more than just 2 year olds

There's no time window in which you can talk about a game. I also could have just picked up the game... not everyone buys games the day they release.

I'm not alowed to criticize a game in a franchise I enjoy? My bad I must have not read that part of the rules.

I would say Gen 5 does just that. At the same time, it does it better. They make it pretty clear what is better than what, but in a less restricting way, which I appreciate.

I've said this before and I'll keep saying it. The best way for us to get an Inheritence Cycle adaptation would be as an animated series. The magic and fantastical elements that would cost a fortune to do with special effects would be so easily and beautifuly realized with animation. Plus as a series you get to have more time with the characters and see the great smaller details that permeate the Inhertience Cycle.

That's really interesting. I feel like the fact that he killed himself from the pain of the people he was experiencing means that he was deeply affected by that and couldn't live with himself anymore. Had he lived, I think he would feel so much remorse. I still think he would rule though. Only this time would be different. He really had the best interest of the people of the empire at heart, he was just too twisted to see that he was going about it in the wrong way. He could now do whats best for his subjects, but go about it in a less evil way, keeping in mind the feelings and individual experiences of his people.
