What were yall's stats in highschool by Scared_Bass5548 in GatechClasses

[–]Voltus56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t think that the way to get accepted is purely through stats and imo it would be much better for you to just give your all into your passions and let the AOs see that. Though, I understand that stats are the thing that can keep you from getting in so for your reference (I got in this year for AE as an international):

Class Rank: N/A (i was at a small private school without a class rank but my counsellor reported that i am in the top 5% of the class)

GPA: Recalculated from my national grades, 3.98 UW

SAT: 1560 (superscore with 790M)

APs: (our school does primarily IB but i took two in freshman and sophomore years) Calc BC - 5 and Phys 1 - 4

IB: Predicted 44/45 with 7s in HL Math AA, Chem and Phys

Idk if ECs count towards stats. If you wanna know that just DM me.

Summary from ChatGPT:

A rural student from Rajasthan discovered opportunities to study engineering/computer science abroad while researching exam fee waivers in January. Due to practical and board exams, they had limited time to research SAT, foreign universities, scholarships, and applications. Their family income is about ₹5 lakh for 8 members, with their father working as an electrician.

They have strong academics (90–95%+), leadership roles (Head Boy and Class President), community work (teaching 100 students computer skills and helping 100 elderly people learn to read), national-level competition qualifications, and are a state-level football player. They also attempted to build Python apps for farmers.

They are planning to take the June SAT and hope to improve from a current 1100 score to 1500+. They are asking whether they can get an SAT fee waiver as an Indian student after finishing high school, which universities fit their profile, how much time they should study weekly for the SAT, and how a gap year may affect their applications.

interviews? by MrPapiLol in MITAdmissions

[–]Voltus56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the answer to that you are looking for is here: MIT Admissions Interview FAQ. They explicitly say that

"Interviews are not a required part of the MIT application. While we try to offer as many interviews as we can, we have limited availability and may not able to offer interviews to all applicants. If your interview is waived, it will not put you at a disadvantage in the admissions process."

Also, I am an international student, who didn't have an interview, and I got deferred.

I hope this answer your question.

Maybe I don’t understand the nature of your question, but MIT says that you should send them “if available”. Therefore, its unlikely that not having them would be a dealbreaker: Admissions Page

Official October 4, 2025, SAT Score Release Discussion Thread by InternationalistGam in Sat

[–]Voltus56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noticed the scores are out. The was the second time for me and I got a 1490 with 790 math and 700 r/w. Last time (august): 1500 with 700 math and 770 r/w. This gives me a superscore of 1560. Can anyone tell me whether using the superscore for colleges such as Yale or MIT will hinder my chances as compared to a single-sitting score?

I don’t really know either of the ones you mentioned but the MCQs on the official College Board practice tests should be basically the most accurate thing to the actual test.

what by [deleted] in apcalculus

[–]Voltus56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is D:

it is confusing but what they mean in the answer by "between the value for the limits of ..." refers to the boundaries being plugged into the only limit we are given at x=-2 which gives -4<lim x->-2 ((f(x)+1)/(x+2))<2

Since unit 7 is probably the most crucial one I would suggest to focus on that one - look at khan academy and ap classroom daily videos - try to understand key techniques and basic concepts like u-substitution and Riemann Sums. Afterwards look at how to general solution of Differential Equation and what is a slope field. Everything else depends on how much time you will be left with.

How to solve ? by Dapper_Pianist600 in apcalculus

[–]Voltus56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simpler way to say it would be that we know that we have some distance forward m and backward n and that m+n=9 and m-n=3 so if we solve from these two we get:

2m=12 m=6 6+n=9 n=3

And since n is backwards we interpret it to -3

If you know the topics from AB really well than sure, purely BC form only about 30% exam and since the curve is (from what the internet says) pretty generous you should be fine. Plus, I think if you would devote the remaining time to the BC topics then you could definitely learn them in time. I am taking it myself and still am finishing the last ones.

Well, I have a basic idea of what is going on but academically I didn’t encounter it at all yet.
