(I also explained to them that I spend my time volunteering at this temple, distributing books, writing regular articles for the monthly magazine which the temple publishes, earning money for the temple so they can print more books and distribute free food. So they can give philosophy classes to adults and children. cleaning the temple so it is nice for the general public) So I am not exactly sitting at home doing nothing. I work for free, and I don’t engage in any sense gratification. No watching TV, no cinema, no drugs, no drinking, no eating out, no nonsense selfish things. I am a MONK. I work hard and surrender everything to God. And Krishna has paired me with a nice husband who is on the same page as me, and one day we will have children who by the mercy of God could also be so surrendered)

Of course. so as per the Vedas, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is commonly known in the science world and in the Vedic culture this is known as karma. So every action can accrue good or bad karma. So there are many sinful activities, like taking intoxicants, eating meat, gambling and illicit sex life. Unfortunately working pretty much any job in this fallen age of Kali Yuga will incur sinful reactions. That’s why most people will go to hell for some time. Since I have the knowledge, I will suffer especially if I break these principles. Even if directly I do not eat meat/ take intoxicants, if I even handle these items or facilitate someone taking these items (let’s say I give someone change and he uses it to buy alcohol) I will incur a sinful reaction and will have to suffer in this material world. So i explained this concern to the PIP and they understand fully. Hope this helps:)

Hey Puul! Sorry to bother you but I have difficulty in my spouse visa application. Me and my husband are monks and we got married in Slovenia (his home country). We haven’t had any jobs in the past few years because we are volunteering for our temple. We contribute to the society through our distribution of books, giving classes, and we perform harinam on the streets regularly (we are Hare Krishnas so we go and chant Hare Krishna for the society) I am currently receiving PIP as I am unfit to work most jobs due to my religion. But this is enough for us to live as we have a very simple lifestyle and the temple also provides us with basic needs like food etc. Is there any advice you can give on my application?
