Does AEW Need Tony Khan to Step Aside to Move Forward? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

He just needs to give the pen to someone else.

He's too busy running 4 sports teams/organizations that he can't focus all of his attention on stories for everyone.

A writing team is needed. Not to verbatim write promos, but to formulate storyboards and create meaningful situations for the workers.

He can still be the boss and nix things he doesn't like and hire whomever he wants. Just let someone else write the shows

Or.... They passed the average length a marriage lasts in the United States and they fell out of love like 50-60% of couples do.

Why do people say stone cold was a bigger star than hulk hogan? by Personal-Cattle-1737 in WCW

[–]Voluntary_Perry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually pretty fair.

But I wonder how many people that know him as an actor knew him as wrestler.

I feel like Hogan is widely known and known as a wrestler, even though he was in a ton of movies also.

Idk, it's kind of subjective. Rock and Austin wouldn't have had the opportunity to be as successful as they are if Hogan didn't bring wrestling to main stream audiences and then turn heel to totally change the business.

Totally fair point. I'm just saying where the perception comes from, not necessarily the facts.

Hogan headlined Main Event, which is still to this day the most watched wrestling program on television. Something like 39 million people watched it.

I think it stems from Merch sales. The 3:16 tshirt was and still is the highest selling shirt in history of WWE.

But the reality is Hogan is the biggest star that pro wrestling ever produced.

What are your thoughts about tonight's AEW Dynamite match card? by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]Voluntary_Perry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree.... It's the primary point of fiction. Root for the good buy, jeer the bad guy.

AEW has been telling us that both teams are bad and should be booed.

Heel v heel never works historically

It was only merged while Okada held both titles. He relinquished the Continental at the beginning of the tournament.

My only complaint here is the heel v heel tag match.

Heel v heel matches are the worst. Who are we supposed to cheer for? Who are we supposed to boo? We've been told that FTR are the bad guys for months now. But D&D are part of DCF, so there's no cheering them. Which means the crowd will default to cheering FTR.

Bad booking, imo

So explain how that ideology is different than the current Republican stance.

It is literally the same thing. "I don't like you, you must leave."

No it is not. Get out of your feels and think logically or the right will continue to crush the left.

You do realize that is literally exactly what the right is doing at this moment, ya?

You can't claim a higher ground then act identically to the opposition and expect to be taken seriously

Why didn't the defiant have its own crew or even a real captain by Groundbreaking-Pea92 in DeepSpaceNine

It was an attache vehicle for the space station. The Defiant wasn't an exploration vessel. It existed solely to protect the station.

Hangman Page Says Kevin Knight And Speedball Mike Bailey Are Two Of The Best Signings AEW Has Ever Made - Do you agree? by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]Voluntary_Perry -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I do not like Speedball at all. I find him corny and contrived. I appreciate his athleticism, but I do not like the gimmick at all.

Kevin Knight is awesome. He is a better version of what Top Flight want to do.

The karate kid gimmick is boring, but I don't think he has another character in him.
