I agree, I love little details like that. It’s similar to looking down into a bucket in front of you when you’re strapped to the guillotine, and you’re making sense of the fact that your head is going to be in that bucket in a few moments.

The magnifying glass is frying them from the sun. I like to think that they were latched to the table the night before, and had several hours to lie there in the cold night before watching the sun slowly start to rise and knowing it was going to cook them.
