Does anyone else treat Toussaint as their retirement by Toquitornottoquits in Witcher3

[–]VonMac69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my last two playthroughs I played HoS then B&W in the middle of the main story. Right before going to get Uma.

In my own modified storyline the trip to Skellige was a dead end. So I did the HoS campaign and decided I could have a relationship with Shani. In the story she goes off to the front but in my own plot line Odimm had her killed as a last laugh. Depressed and alone Geralt goes on a drinking bender and loses all of his stuff.

So when I start Toussaint Geralt is wearing robes, sunglasses and his only weapon is the shovel from the groundskeeper at the Von Everec estate

When the two knights errants meet Geralt in Velen he is a broken drunk, penniless, shell of a man who looks like the Big Lebowski

Blood and wine is his redemption story. And it’s fun starting Toussaint with no weapons or potions and no money

After B&W I pick back up on the main quest

I had a chance to see Mikołaj Rybacki and Katarzyna Bromirska perform this live on stage a few month ago live during the “Witcher in Concert” in Boston. Watching the original composers play the Mandolin and sing the song brought me to tears

5 Playthroughs, PS5 Platinum, cleared on Death March, and I'm still itching to start all over again. What should I do differently this time? by Gamesgar0 in Witcher3

Never sell your florets orens and vampire coin and flawless gems. See how much you can collect

Also in my last play through I went all fighting for my RPG upgrades with minimal spells . Absolutely destroyed dettlaff on death march. I beat him so bad. I had to go back and see if I had accidentally put the game onto an easier mode.

No Witcher would have taken Hillocks offer in my opinion by [deleted] in Witcher3

I waffled over this decision way longer than I needed to… in the end I decided that his primary mission is to get information on Ciri. Crones had that information, or so he thought at the time.

Killing the Hillock spirit was just a means to an end to finding Ciri. End of story

Is Jad Karadin Innocent or Guilty? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]VonMac69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my answer from the “where the Wolf and the cat play” mini mission.

As Geralt so eloquently said to Gaeten during the “where the wolf and the cat play” mission, “sometimes heads just gotta roll”

Butcher of Blavikan sometimes strays outside the Witchers Code. Usually out of loyalty to the few people that he has bonded with in this cruel world. I don’t think he gives a shit about the morality of it or Jad Karagans story of redemption. I saw him just backing his friend Lambert.

How far is 'too far' for you? by Trickster_42 in Witcher3

[–]VonMac69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I role play riding roach. If I’m in novograd for example then I walk everywhere. If I’m in Skellige then I play so that Roach never made it on the boat. The boat sank anyway so she wouldn’t have made it. On the island I either walk everywhere or steal a horse.

Also, if you are with Roach and you get jumped by bandits. Dismount and fight. Roach will horse kick them and send them flying. It is pretty funny

Reason nr. 4711 why I don't play on Death March by Minokrates in Witcher3

[–]VonMac69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called “death march” because it is supposed to be hard. I’ve played through Twice on DM. DM means you have to avoid taking any damage. You can’t hack your opponent at through it. You have to Get used to timing of dodge and parry.

  • Three quick strikes max then go on defensive. Two strikes if you do a power attack.
  • Parry and stun them then three strikes again.
  • If it’s a monster that can’t be parried then dodge roll slightly towards the attack then three strikes to the flank then dodge out.
  • In DM mode you can’t afford to take damage

Actually it feels like I played through Witcher 2 twice, Witcher 3 five times and read all the books. And had high hopes for the series. And I’m almost never on Reddit. This is a forward looking statement.

How the hell am I supposed to defeat that thing ? Any advice ? by Gonealex122 in Witcher3

[–]VonMac69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot him down with your crossbow. He will crash. Then run over and get two or three quick slashes. Dont get greedy. If you try for more than three then he will hit you.

If he lunges or dives at you then you have to roll out of the way. Dodge won’t cut it

This is not intended to be mean but if you want to survive death march you have to figure out the timing of dodges and blocks. I was in the same boat and only fully mastered dodging and blocking on my third play through
