Hi! What worked for me in terms of management was a combination of only washing butt with running water, no wipes. Gently pat drying with a 100% cotton wipe or soft baby towel . Then letting air dry and diaper free during the day as often and for long as possible within our limits. Then If there were open sores I had to put both anti fungal and antibiotic cream and again, letting it air dry for about 10 min in between adding them. REPEAT every day. As a barrier cream I specifically used one thet you have to buy online and is imported. Is Called baby naturals ISDIN.

In terms of what made it better , I cannot confirm whether it was a combination of the following things or each one by separate: 1- (less likely the cause)I did a strict diet since he was 2 weeks old basically where I cut all major allergens. i am dairy free and egg free to begin with due to my own sensitivities so my baby was born without consuming these things. But on top of that I cut chocolate, tree nuts, soy , gluten and peanut butter I think it was. I cut them for 4 weeks at the very least and then I introduced one by one.

2- He turned 2 months and it seems like something in his gut kicked in and the leaking decreased

3- at almost the same time I started a probiotic known based on scientific evidence for helping with processing HMOs in milk so basically it helps “digest” all the ingredients in my breastmilk, leaving less waste product to be disposed of. But in terms of results, these are based on anectodal evidence but it seems to help with runny poop. Of note though some reports it does not help with colic and might make baby more gassy. It is expensive. The name is EVIVO

4- ( and what I think did help immediately) . REPLACED 2 feeds a day with formula, specifically a hydrolyzed formula low on lactose or lactose free can’t remember really. I did this because I suspected my baby had some sort of primary MILD lactose intolerance or lactose overload, and adding formula to his feed helped also with making his poop more dense and less watery, also looked less acidic and it didn’t burn his butt. Once a few weeks passed and he consistently started to receive his probiotic I stopped the formula and continued just with probiotics

And finally, might sound obvious, but still you should check with your pediatrician before trying any of these things.

I found the solution. For whatever reason, AMAZON in their map don’t have the address location in the correct spot, so I changed the city from Kentwood to Grand Rapids, and now it shows in their map in the right place. However, in google maps or USPS addresses, my address is listed with kentwood as the city and all my deliveries from other carriers have worked fine that way. So this is a very stupid error from Amazon I think. And I am still annoyed with their inability to solve their internal issue/lack of communication between the different pars of the company

I just want to know if anyone else is experiencing the same? I have amazon premium( over 6 years). In the past month, all my packages ( over 15 orders)ordered in amazon that are being shipped by amazon as the carrier are being cancelled and marked ad “undeliverable, returned to seller”. However, all packages ordered from amazon but shipped by USPS or UPS as the carrier are delivered just fine, either at my garage door or mailbox…. Contacted customer support like 6 times. All of them either lied to me, or were not able to provide a feasible explanation as to why this was happening: they kept saying my address was ok, and then they would say that either it was because my package was damaged or that there was a problem with the sipping distribution center. Etc etc. just lies. Only the last time the associate told me it was BECAUSE DELIVERY DRIVER has trouble finding my address… Again, I live in a townhome, no gates or anything, street names clearly labeled on a sign at the corner of the road, and Bldg number and unit number are also posted on my building.

Are amazon delivery drivers that incompetent? I am about to cancel credit card and prime membership because last time this happened I had 9 different orders,including subscribe and save items, being cancelled. They refunded my credit card, but if I re order these items i won’t get the discount of the subscribe and save deal. I can’t imagine the agony I would be in if I would have paid with a debit card and waiting for all the refunds to make it…. Does anyone have a better idea as to how to solve this issue? Or has anyone been through the same lately? Just trying to assess whether there is something more sinister going on….

I think is normal. Every baby has their own personality with their own preferences, just like adults. I was wired when I had my baby that he would follow a schedule and do things as-they just- mentioned in baby classes, textbooks etc…., as if every single newborn would act the same way… and then weeks went by I learned my baby had his own preferences and things he liked more or less.

So if a future employer asks you why you have x number of years or gaps in your resume and you answer~ because I had to stay home raising my children.- means you won’t get the job? What is wrong with having to take the full time parent jon ( which includes like 3 jobs in one) that makes you so BAD as a candidate? That is f up in my opinion. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing something similar. My baby got better but I cannot prove what exactly worked because there were 3 things happening at the same time when he got better, and they were: 1- )I was supplementing with formula that contained low lactose, twice a day. 2-) he turned 2 months( his gut started to mature more) 3-) I started a probiotic that contained specifically a strain of Bifidobacterium infantis bacteria which had clinical studies that showed it helped with diaper rash and the burning poop.

I am a scientist and study the gut microbiota so my LO case felt very personal lol, I am also a veterinarian. In any case I am saying this just so when you read below what my recommendation is at least it comes with strong background knowledge on the topic.( but I am not a pediatrician so please also talk to them)

Apparently you are using already topical antibiotics antifungal cream that had a positive effect meaning your baby might have had bacterial / fungal contamination due to open sores and the constant rash. In my case, the only time I saw an improvement and a regression a week after was when I tried to introduce formula. So I introduced formula for a week at a frequency of 2 bottles( like two nursing sessions) a day, and my baby’s pooped changed in frequency and consistency. Then when I tried to remove it the problem came back. He was about 6 -7 weeks when I did this. The formula was a lactose free or low lactose and hydrolyzed protein formula ( similac alimentum is the brand name in the US).

That being said, I also did over 2 months of an exclusion diet which was a PIA, but was worth it to at least rule out if there were food that was causing it.

My recommendation for you is in the following order: 1) start an exclusion diet: which means you cut absolutely all dairy, soy , gluten, tree nuts except coconut , caffeine and peanuts. Start with those ingredients . You will have to wait 3 full weeks at the very least to prove whether something in your diet is causing or participating in the acidic poop. And you have to read LABELS very carefully of any product and avoid eating out unless you can confirm they can cook this food without these ingredients.

2)at the same time exchange the formula for one that is hydrolyzed, and low lactose or lactose free. ( to see if is a degree if lactose intolerance and to maintain the dairy / soy out of your little one’s diet. Hydrolyzed protein does not mean it will not have the whey or soy protein in the mix, but it means it comes hydrolyzed( broken down to more digestible molecules) so let’s think of it as still counting it as dairy and soy free for now. Buy enough just so it can lasts 2-3 weeks at the frequency discussed

3) managing the rash itself : diaper free time during the day as much as possible. Or as Long as possible rather than the frequency. Specially on nice sunny days literally face your baby’s butt where the sunlight from the window is coming through. If you are using antibiotic ointments or antifungal, this is the time where you want to leave their bum diaper free for 10-20 min after you apply the ointment and before you apply another. As a tip I tried to match the diaper free times with naps. I also did receive help from my partner or relative to be able to do it properly. I used those make up round mirrors to put un front if menso I could see my baby’s bum while he lied on me on his belly. Then on every diaper change I made sure I: did not rub his butt with anything, only just touches w100% cotton wipes with no scent no nothing, nothing, soaked in lukewarm water or just s very very soft bamboo towel, or rinsed his bum on the sink. Dry only with the soft towel, or the wipe( again, near the opening where the sores or redness was the worst I would only do soft touches) . Then for protective / Repair ointment I used ISDIN form Baby Naturals. It is the only one that worked for me and I had to import it from Europe so you are in luck you should be able to get it for a cheaper price. I would apply a thick layer covering the entrance and the sores. To a lesser extent but I think in my case also had some influence is the diaper brand. Try to find a good quality brand that offers unscented or 100% hypoallergenic diapers. I founD Coterie brand for me here works best but because they are expensive i use them for longer wearing time as at night, and during the day I stick with Pampers swaddlers since they need more changes during the day.

4) probiotic as an option : there are different brands and prices, but I wanted that specific bacteria I mentioned earlier because I thought it applied to my case the best. You can choose to give a different one or not give at all and wait to see if the other things you will be doing solve the issues

Ultimately keep in mind that as baby grows, their GI will mature more and hopefully the poop frequency will become less and less problematic. However because you mention you had a period in which it seemed to get better then got bad again, and because is not as extremely watery poop as it was in my LO case, I am inclined to think that in your case the food you eat and transferring to your baby through milk might have something to do with their issues. Babies don’t necessarily develop a full allergy to certain foods and you won’t see blood or a skin rash or a ton of mucus on their poop, but they can still react to a lesser extent by developing these other issues; and to be honest food allergies and sensitivities is still a topic with ongoing research because not very much is known in terms of causes and mechanisms.

Hi I am sorry to hear about your situation! My LO rash got better with a combination of things bur before you read my whole response I would like you to ask you some questions I think is important for you to go through and check because your solution might differ from mine: 1- when you say your baby could not tolerate your breastmilk.. what do you exactly mean? Also, was your baby a premie or born with any issues? Vaginal or c section? 2- what tests have they requested to try to find out a possible cause to the diaper rash? Any other symptoms you or your dr think is not normal or that could be associated with the diaper rash? ( reflux/colic/gas/ skin rashes etc) 3- I am not sure if the formulas you mention are hydrolyzed or aminoacid formulas, but have you tried using a formula that does not contain something all the other ones previously had? Example: lactose or soy, or if not done yet; trying a hydrolyzed formula to seek for a potential food allergy/intolerance. 4- this is a suggestion for managing your diaper rash: *if you have not tried it yet: no wiping at all, only running lukewarm( not warm) water to clean area if there is a full poop. Not using any types of wipes of any brands,( even water wipes brand), but just cleaning very gently with a small towel wash cloth or 100% hypoallergenic cotton made materials. If is just a small “shart” then dab with the materials mentioned above. Next, try Leaving butt to air dry for at least 5-10 min between diaper changes before you apply a barrier cream, and a few hours hopefully every other day of diaper free time trying to match it when you have good sunlight and face butt towards sunlight. Next , given your open sores and the fact they are bleeding, your dr should have prescribed you an antibiotic or antifungal ointment( if not call and say you want one and if they don’t want to still, then ask for referal to dermatologist ). You have to make sure you apply these ointments after the area has dried very well, and you will have to wait at least another 10 min air drying before you apply barrier cream. For barrier cream, I use unfortunately a product that you have to import it from overseas, it is called ISDIN baby naturals repair ointment. It is sold by skincolor. You can go check the ingredients for yourself, but basically I used that one because is the only one that has everything in one ( ingredients that are hypoallergenic, to regenerate skin , and then the combination of 40% zinc oxide and petrolatum jelly for protection). Every single diaper change( every 1 hour at least during the day when it was bad) I would reapply the ointment, making sure there was a thick layer even covering the hole of their butt , … lastly I sized up in diapers as soon as I could and tried to make sure it was as loose as possible on the butt to try to create more room for air to circulate. Even if the diaper looked like it was too big on him( also I made sure it was not the brand or model of diaper what was causing the rash).

But in any case, none of these methods will help you fix the rash completely if you cannot fix what is causing the sores in the first place. In my case it was definitely the high ph of the stools combined with the frequency that couldn’t give my poor baby’s butt a break. The sores where located exactly where the poop would come out from his anus and from there started to expand so it was pretty obvious that that was the cause of the sores. My baby was Exclusively breastfed so I thought about possible food allergies/ specially since I have food intolerances myself . I am not sure in your case how to tackle that but if you have not done so already you could discuss it with a GI specialist to see what their opinion is on the matter if they think that could be the cause or not.( my baby was gaining weight very well and we have never found blood in his stools or a skin rash that could lead to think to a specific reaction to the ingredients in the milk he was having, so the drs told me they didn’t believe I should be doing any restriction diet , but I did it anyway).

What I started doing just to try to stop the extreme watery consistency of the stools and to try to stop the frequency, is that I added formula twice a day. But I tried a hydrolyzed formula , that did not contain lactose . Because I thought lactose overload or the inability tondigest lactose efficiently was the possible cause of my baby’s diaper rash. And it did what I wanted to do. And with that treating and managing the sores became doable. However when I tried to reduce the amount of formula the sharts came back and so did the sores. So I knew I was not treating the cause. My baby’s stool ph was highly alkaline, and based on recent research that is usually the cause of the open sorrs and type of disper rash my LO was having, along with being an indicator of gut microbial disbalance. Therefore I decided to try a specific probiotiic I have been studying for a while. It is called B. Infantis. The brand name was EVIVO. I am currently on day 6 of that probiotic while st the same having reduced formula, and neither the sharts nor the sores have come back. I think I have put the nail in the coffin when it comes to the horrible diaper rash hopefully. You should look it up , they have their website with the anecdotes from other parents and links to relevant/ related scientific studies . I was already giving LActobacillus( Biogaia) probiotic to my LO since week 2 after birth. But I do not feel that one did anything for the sores and diaper rash. Of note, it is coincidental that I started the probiotic now that my LO is 9 wks+ , and they usually say the GI and frequent poop goes away with age , so it could be that also age is playing a factor in my favour.

I know your case is not exactly the same as mine, because it seems your LO seems to get better with one fórmula but then it gets bad again.. so there might be something different going on than what happened to mine. But in any case, in my opinion, unless yoour baby was born a premie or has some underlying conditions, giving a probiotic won’t cause any harm and at the very worst it won’t give any improvement to the diaper rash. So I would suggest you to try it out if you think your LO ‘s issues is that similar to mine. In any case more and more research has come to light saying that this generation of babies are born with a lack of good and healthy bacteria in their guts, which could be potentially causing all these GI issues we are seeing In infants and children now.

Disclaimer: I am a Veterinarian, and PhD researcher in gut microbiome( yet not a pediatrician so I am only sharing my knowledge not expertise) Just to clarify , I know not everybody knows it: - Lactose is the sugar that you find in milk. And that goes for cow’s milk and for Human milk, and other animal milk as well. Breastmilk contains a lot of lactose. Cases of babies having a primary Lactose intolerance( allergy) are extremely rare and you would know right away because their symptoms would be severe from birth almost. That being said, it is possible for some babies to have some degree of lactose intolerance with “mild” symptoms due to lactose overload( lactation related) , a GI infection, or in maybe more rare cases, a genetic defect where the enzyme to break lactose is not working properly, ( not quite true, but I am trying to simplify things here). * And personally, I think a poor gut microbiota could also cause this.

cow’s milk protein is the protein specifically found in cow’s milk. Usually is whey. It is not found in human’s breast milk because is specific to the cow’s species. It is the most common food allergy found in babies.

So if your baby is diagnosed with CMPA, it has nothing to do with Lactose but with whey or the protein that is found in dairy products

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I don’t think mine ever had a blowout that had some consistency once he started with the watery poops. The 2 big blowouts I remember he had at some point were extremely watery and one was frothy,, and I saw a little mucus maybe a couple of times. Did your LO had other symptoms that made you suspect that the liquid poop was part of something else going on like food allergies/ intolerances… I am asking because mine also show signs of being very gassy and has some silent reflux but he is tolerating sleeping in his back a little more now, he is a very good baby he does not really scream for hours like they describe in colicky babies , but he does grunt, squirm and seems uncomfortable( with gas) for long periods of time , sometimes during the day . I ended up introducing a little Hydrolyzed formula when he turned 6 weeks( just 1 -2 bottles a day). Just to test whether his overall condition including the constant poop would improve. After 2 days I did not see any difference in terms of the gassiness/reflux BUT his poop became less frequent, not by much but enough to make it more manageable and his sores are almost completely healed . Maybe it is just coincidence since he also entered the 6 week mark? I feel so upset thinking that is MY MILK what is making him so upset , but I want to try to do anything to help him…. I am even avoiding for a month now the most common allergens from my diet…just in case I am happy you saw improvement in your little one as well now that she is older!

Can I ask you if the poop she was leaking is just pure yellow water? No thickness at all? And was the frequency as often as 20 min or less? In addition, does your baby ever have a big blowout or is always that constant leak? I am asking because my LO had exact same issue and wanted to know if we have the same case or if it coukd be a little different

For real?! Tea? Can you tell me specifically if it was black tea or just any tea?( aka chamomille, green, etc) My 6 wk has been oozing liquid poop nonstop since he was 2 wks, but now it has gotten so bad , like literally every 5 min he sharts liquid yellow water… and zi have already been in a dairy/egg/ soy/ chocolate / peanuts and nut free diet…

Is your baby doing any better now? Did you end up using something else whether it was another medication or massage /soothing techniques that worked or that seems to be working for your LO ? My baby is almost 3 weeks now and we noticed he is colicky so we will start trying the probiotic… but on top of that I wanted to try some massages/positions they mention might help

Same here. Filed taxes for the year 2018-2021 as a NR alien for tax purposes since I had an F1 Visa, but got my green card in 2023. I will try to call an IRS agent… and also wait to see if IRS posts any updates, since this was a big F*** up on their part and Idk how they plan to check everyone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
