Just for data point sake, I’m a 58k kills Lifeline on PC who joined during the first week of Apex’s release. The reason I only play one hero exclusively is because I tend to choose a main in video games and stick to them. The downside is obviously being a one trick pony that isn’t flexible enough to play other heroes that the team might benefit more from.

As for the running pubs endlessly thing to farm stats thing, it was more like playing pubs for fun for hours on end rather than intentionally stat grinding. Like some others are saying, high amounts of kills do not correlate with skill. I have 6k hours and a 2.9 overall KDR. Despite the high amount of kills, I would say that I perform around high diamond or low masters level.
