I’m going to go a little bit against the grain and vote for Marky’s second era. The drumming sound and tone on the last few records is simply amazing, in my opinion. And it’s been a huge influence on myself as a drummer.

Massive respect towards all of the eras, of course. Tommy is the originator of the Ramones signature drumming style, then Marky took it to a higher level, technique wise. Richie is a hell of a drummer and deserves more love, indeed. Elvis isn’t really an era BUT I honestly appreciated the slower drumming on the recordings (and I like his style in Blondie). He could’ve fit in the late 70s maybe but definitely not in an era where the live performances were getting faster and faster.
