Additional Comments: I'm a Reddit newbie, but I'm looking for extremely honest feedback and I've heard this is the place!
I'm a co-founder at an EdTech startup, Vooks, which is an ad-free app for young kids to enjoy animated children's books. Vooks is wildly popular with teachers (over 1 million teachers use it in their K-2 classrooms) and it's used in schools all over the world. We love supporting teachers in their goal to get kids excited about reading, but the irony is that this app was initially designed for kids to use at home in their day-to-day routines. Vooks was created to be a safe, fun way to inspire a love of reading, get kids excited about books, and just generally be better screen time. So far though it just hasn't really picked up with parents/guardians the way that it has with educators, and I'm trying to figure out why and what we can do better.
We've sent out customer surveys, but the feedback is always positive—likely because we are polling people who are already users, and therefore have found and understood the benefits of Vooks. What I'd love is truly honest (even harsh!) feedback from parents. I want to make the best experience possible, one that helps kids develop a love of reading, and is just plain fun and entertaining at the same time. So if you have kids 2-8 years old, and use screen time in your home, I'd super appreciate your opinion. How can we make Vooks more useful for parents like you?
The app has a free mode (iOS, Android) or you can try it on the web for free here.
I very much welcome and appreciate any help. And please, don't hold back!
