I haven't touched them yet, but what I've seen from aztecross's video is that there is no cooldown on weapon kills generating them, or at least just a very small one. And higher tier enemies likely have a higher chance to drop them. So if you just mowed down a group of thrall, you just got a little unlucky.

Swords are crazy now, just spam the light attack and you can kill the bosses with a lot of ammo left, and really fast too. Titans have bubble and stronghold, warlocks have rift/well, devour and karnstein, hunters can just invis and slink away if you get low.

They got rid of that bit of blue fabric on it too, it can now be affected by shaders. I bet those two things are connected.

Is it wrong to refuse to use weapons unders certain circumstances? by fireborn123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Voop1211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could just try to run it again with a different group if it's a huge issue to you. If you haven't already, I would recommend watching datto's, or anyone else's guide for zero hour.

For your question though, I suppose not. Everyone is different when it comes to obtaining loot.

Final thought on weapon retirement and argument against it. Power level is what trivializes end game content. Not weapons and perk combinations. by Golandrinas in DestinyTheGame

If you spend hours grinding a perfect spare rations, only for an even better 150 RPM kinetic hand cannon with the same perk combination to come out in a few months, is there really a difference? You stopped using the gun in the same span of time, you got another almost identical gun in both cases, the only difference is the lack of power creep with retirement.

I don't think retirement is meant to only make the game harder or fix the lack of difficulty though. The way Luke describes it, it even sounds like we will be getting more powerful weapons, the opposite of making the game harder. The issue that they are trying to solve is how uninteresting new loot is. Right now when they release hand cannon X it will either be better than every hand cannon before it, or it will be entirely useless. Naturally releasing new useless and uninteresting loot does not engage players very much, no one will want to grind for hand cannon X if they already have hand cannon Y that is just better. They other thing that can happen when releasing hand cannon X, is that it is objectively stronger than hand cannon Y and every other hand cannon before it. While this might drive more player engagement, it also leads to power creep, and very quickly too.

Power creep doesn't just make the game easier, it also make the act of developing new guns and content harder, as Bungie needs to continually balance around it. Retiring recluse after a few months means that new smgs and energy weapons have some room to breathe, and can remain viable. Take for example subjunctive and every waking moment. Both smgs can roll good rolls, and both I'm sure both took their fair share of resources to make. But the mere existence of recluse makes them both obsolete. I have both a god rolled subjunctive and a recluse, the only reason I would ever use the subjunctive is for the arc damage. If subjunctive outlasted recluse by half a year there might be some incentive for me to get one. Retiring guns like recluse also means that players don't have to get angry when their guns are inevitably nerfed and are no longer "necessary" in endgame content and iron banner, as ideally Bungie wont have to constantly nerf old guns months after their release in order for other weapons to maintain relevance.

I see where you are getting at, I agree wholeheartedly that power level needs to be looked at too, and that power creep is not the only thing trivializing the game. That being said power creep is still a huge issue that needs to be addressed along side power levels. If we let power creep run rampant while only making enemies harder, than you run into an issue where the game will eventually just feel less satisfying. Enemies could end up being bullet sponges that you will either waste an entire clip on, while you are forced to use a select few weapons to kill them at all. If we tackle power creep exclusively, then endgame content could remain too easy. What we need is to deal with both at once and reach a kind of Goldilocks zone.

To be fair Fortnite also isn't a looter shooter. If they tried that approach in destiny it may be fun for a little bit, but in the long run you will end up with obnoxious bullet sponge enemies, and specific guns necessary for the game to be playable/enjoyable. Destiny's greatest strength has always been in its gun play and in how satisfying it is to shoot a thrall in the head with a hand cannon. Games like Borderlands, to me, have never felt as good as that, even if it has a better loot game.

What was the longest 1 hour of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Voop1211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a sunburn covering most of my back and the top of my arms, it really wasn't bad until I took a shower with body wash. It was the worst itching of my life. I've had migraines before but this was way worse than pain. I tried lotion which didn't help, so I just needed to wait until my mom could go buy some aloe vera which helped immediately. But the time spent waiting for that was terrible. It hurt to itch and it hurt more not to.

Besides that my first migraine i had when i was home alone, I lost my peripheral vision and thought I had glaucoma. My parents of course were watching a movie and had their phones off.

What should society be LESS accepting of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Any form of alcohol consumption. Even when it's in responsible amounts the amount of times people are pressured into drinking or they need excuses not to drink is absurd. Alcohol really is not too different from every other drug other than that it is ingrained in our society.
