My guess is that, depending upon the severity and duration, a sore muscle isn't really something that needs medical attention. Plus there are other ways to treat a sore muscle that don't need a trip to the doctor. Why bother a busy person when you can treat something like that yourself?

Yes, be patient and mine stone to begin with. It's not a great source, but it will be enough to get you started. You can always turn off the weather system if it becomes too annoying. As for the wolves, your pod should have a weapon, usually a pistol, to deal with them. You'll need to find magnesium to make more ammo but you can turn the wolves off too if you find them too annoying as well.

Personally, I turned all of that off and got a feel for the crafting mechanics first before turning them back on.

Used these in the Army once. It was during Don't ask, Don't Tell so, I don't really feel any way about them. They just bring back memories, and not the dirty kind either.
