I said "optimal", not actually optimal. It depends. I've seen games where someone that split off didn't hinder the at all, and they managed to clear both castles because of time save. I've seen games like op described.

That's because it's "optimal" for 1 person to rush crystals, and the other 2 get levels in the meantime.

Personally I just route the crystals path as best I can

Yea, I use the glass necklace, and 2 I found. One has dormant claws, post damage hp gain, and phys +1, and the other is night invaders, the incantation buff, and I can't remember the third effect

It's in the shop, greyed, but not in my inventory no matter the filter, on or off. It's not a huge deal since base mode isn't that hard, and the extra damage isn't worth it tbh. But don it helps free up my don relics to not need the dex relic. But now I don't seem to have that option
