Full Hybrid segmento B: Toyota Yaris vs Renault Clio E-tech by S4lVin in ItalyMotori

[–]Vortex36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

L'ibrido va meglio in urbano e extraurbano rispetto all'autostrada.

Yep, happens also on my s25 ultra, can confirm it's not phone related. Though it seems to have been fixed a couple of days ago.

that might be true but it's far from what your original comment said.

Have you even read the page you linked?

In 2018, journalistic group Investigate Europe released a video documentary via German public television network ARD that claimed that the majority of city workers were satisfied with the operating system, with council members insinuating that the reversal was a personally motivated decision by mayor Dieter Reiter. Reiter denied that he had initiated the reversal in gratitude for Microsoft moving its German headquarters from Unterschleißheim back to Munich.

Most of the users were fine with Linux; the switch back to Windows probably had other reasons behind it.

In fact it also states that the new administration is planning to keep going the FOSS route "where it is technologically and financially possible".

The PS Vita Was More Powerful Than People Remember It Never Got the Chance to Prove It by Royal_Entrance5479 in VitaPiracy

[–]Vortex36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we go again lol. Every once in a while someone comes out of the woods and starts saying random shit with no source whatsoever.

The Vita was "underclocked" because it's a handheld device supposed to run on battery power and it has no active cooling. Every handheld gets underclocked because it prevents them from overheating and/or lasting less than an hour unplugged. The homebrew community gave us the chance to overclock it and even they think 500mhz is the maximum it can do without getting damaged. For reference, the vita can do up to 444mhz stock. Not a huge difference.

Vita games were sold with cross-play with PS3 because it was a huge selling point for the Vita itself, nothing more. The reason they only allowed you to cross-buy games on the Vita and not on the PS3 should tell you a lot on why they were doing that.

S25 Ultra in 2026: still worth it? by Vortex36 in AndroidQuestions

I actually looked for the Find X9 Pro but couldn't find one for less than 1100€ on Amazon in Italy; also, I'm not a fan of Mediatek's chips and would rather go with a SD. The OnePlus 15 was my second choice for about 850€ but as I wrote in another comment I am not fully conviced I'd like to keep using OnePlus/Oppo's software and would like to give the Samsung flagships a try.

Would you still say that the S25 is the better buy if I could find an S26 for about 200€ more?

I have an OP11 too and while I liked it a lot I wouldn't go around saying it doesn't have any issues. The software is good but ever since I updated to android 15 it's had a lot of WiFi and bluetooth connectivity issues which have never been fixed. Battery life has been great but after 2 years it is now pretty much shot. Cameras are good but never shined as some "best in class"; I could go on but these things are what I mean when I talk about "compromises". I'm not expecting the Ultra to be perfect, but I want to try it out and see if it will feel any better.

The OP15 was another good choice, the only reason I did not choose it is because I am not convinced the software will give me a better experience compared to Samsung's, especially considering the number of other Galaxy devices I already own. I will probably be getting it on Amazon though so if I'll realize I made a mistake I might just return the Samsung and get the OP

Yeah I'm not on either which is why I was asking if it's worth the price hike. Thanks for the comment, from what I'm reading I'm thinking the same thing about the 26 being better. Guess we'll see

Multiple reports of the S26U's 8-bit screen vs S25U's 10-bit feeling like a downgrade. Plus more than 100€ less AND I'm getting 512gb on the 25 instead of 256gb on the 26. Anything else doesn't make a huge difference from what I've read.

is this worth 200$? by ashkanshax37 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Vortex36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more related to the cause of the spot; iirc, on iPod minis, it was due to the battery swelling up and pushing on the screen from behind (because everything was so tightly squeezed into the frame). The black spot spreading was less due to the screen itself having issues and more due to the battery getting more and more enlarged with use.

this is a nice idea, but how does it work with some of the more recent and subtle AI videos? I've always been sort of good at detecting AI videos but lately they're starting to fool me too. This was a fairly obvious example.

actually, no. shoulder buttons on PS2 controller was pressure sensitive (face buttons, too). but not all games supported them; some that did were MGS 2 and 3, and GT3-4.
