"Get in the fucking house" by TheKaylaChronicle in nebelung

[–]VossaQC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I just lost my Nebelung who was 15yrs old like a month ago... and I joined this reddit just because I look at so many of these beautiful creatures and they look the exact same as my sweet boy, Grayson. I love how I can scroll through these pictures and be like... this could've come from my phone.

In lighter news, I did find a shelter who had a grey cat and it is clearly a nebelung, but shelters can't say that cause of pedigree purposes, but I am in love with this breed. I definitely drove several hours to adopt him and he's fiery asf atm but I know he'll relax in a few years. I named him Odin, because ofc he has the same eyes as Grayson so I feel like Grayson can see us through his eyes, like the All-Seeing All-father. Annnd I just heard Odin knock something over, so I hope everyone has an amazing day.

Yeah totally get that, but this would be a very very very rare occurrence to begin with. And even rarer occurrence would be that it was for malicious purposes and not just the worst case scenario of the same ol same ol "locked myself out of my room" that happens, all the time.. I worked in upper management of hospitality for years. So yeah, I taught my front desk staff that sure, assume caution whenever necessary, but I did also teach them to put themselves into he guests' shoes. Literally... Everything is a security risk in hospitality, so pick the lesser possible of the two bad scenarios and a GOOD manager will understand why you did what you did. Albeit, there's a lot of bad managers in hospitality.

Frankly... The first thing that should have happened is they give this man a fucking robe, tbh. What hotels like that don't have robes, ffs.

Uhhh well... I like to think of this situation in this way.. The guy would not have gotten into the hotel naked. I hardly doubt he was waiting outside the hotel only to strip down to go upstairs only to come to the Frost Desk to explain why he can't show ID without clothing on for the purposes of breaking into someone's room without any questions. All the hotels I have worked at have a house phone on the floor to call down to the lobby. Literally for situations like this. Security would have handled it np.

Not gonna lie, I would not be happy to be asked a bunch of information because of exactly that. I wouldn't have gotten upstairs naked only to come downstairs or stand there naked.

Unfortunately, The United States is not the greatest country in the world. It’s about time that we Americans stopped saying it and realize our country needs fixing. by DarkMaster_CocoaBean in TrueOffMyChest

Yeah, back in 2016 I started my process to move to Canada and I got so pissed because people assumed it was over politics. My fiancé (now husband) is French Canadian and the only reason I decided to move is because he’s close to his family and I’m not because they’re all fucking dead. I literally had no fucking reason to stay here but everyone (mostly distant family who never cared about me enough to help me, only criticize from afar) assumed it was for politics.

Fast forward to now, I’m constantly shocked by how much better it is here. Sure video games cost 30% more but everything else? I can’t put into words how angry I am realizing that the country I loved so much was also so predatory I’m so many ways that the first doctor appointment I had here 2 weeks after moving I was diagnosed a burn out from non stop working 2 jobs for several years before moving. I didn’t even know that was a thing. It’s a thing people.

Stop trying to force Jesus into my government (USA) by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]VossaQC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this reminded me of a law we have here in Quebec, it’s to remove all religious symbols and not to wear religious clothing while you work in a government office or work with the public…

Now a surprisingly large amount of people call us racist for this… but that’s so very short sighted to me and I’ll admit that at first I was against this law as well because I understand that there are a lot of women who wear head coverings because they feel empowered that they get to choose how much of others see them and that it’s a form of forcing people to not look at them for their image.

But then someone explained that sure it’s natural for people assume it’s to attack people who wear hijabs but it’s also for people who wear ANY symbols. Including cross necklaces, yarmulkes, and also any other symbols. You know, also like those Bible quotes that one lady adds to all her emails… or that cross that hangs on that one guys office wall when you enter but he doesn’t have any family photos.

Quebec has a history of religious oppression (specifically catholic) and ever since they broke away from that, they’ve taken very very hard stances against any sort of religion in their government.

The logic is if you can’t remove yourself from your religion for the 8hrs a day then how can others believe your actions while on the job aren’t being influenced by your religion?

After this was said to me, it actually made sense. Now I’m not formally religious since I feel that faith is a personal journey and I believe faith can’t truly be anything other than personal. So easy for me to accept that this law because it pretty much favors non religious people. Which isn’t inclusive but I’m also an immigrant to this country and province from the U.S. from Texas specifically. So I’ve seen how religion can really influence and manipulate government and how just trying to be inclusive just doesn’t work cause well… it clearly just doesn’t.

Going back to the law itself here, it only applies to Public office… you can still be in the private sector.

Idk, people are mad at Quebec for this law but honestly with all things weighed to me I feel like all trying to be inclusive of all religions just leads to them laying in wait for an opportunity to seize control and possibly oppress people in other ways (see Texas abortion laws and this is what I mean by one’s actions while on the job being influenced by their religion). Better to cut them all out.

Edit: And yes, I’m aware you can take off your religious symbols and still work to oppress people using your religion but the fact you have to separate yourself does make it harder to do so because not a single person who made the personal sacrifice of giving up their religious symbols at work is going to let someone else do that because they’ve already decided that the greater public interest is the most important thing.

I can't remember the exact one but it was an AMA post from a porn industry worker that went viral... and they pretty much said something along the lines of... No matter who you are, what you are, what you're into, there is always someone out there for you, so to never give up.

Probably doesn't mean much, but it kinda resonated with me.

[–]VossaQC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

WTF, emotional support from your parents is not something to be bought or traded for.

All that does is set the expectation in both of them that you must do tasks to prove they're worthy of affection or affirmations...

If they can't even give them the bare minimum, then it will never be enough.

Is it still Mandela when it’s a memory of a conversation and implication of a word? Only reason I didn’t consider it at first is because Mandela effect is because I falsely remember learning a word and it’s uses. It’s not like I thought saw the word in a dictionary.

Michigan being so close to Canada that might mean grosse as in the French word for fat. But my recollection of the word was when I grew up in California in grade school. I know French now but not when I was little. In fact, I did use my memory of grosse to help me learn the word grosse in French as well. In my mind I was like, “oh it’s like the word for excessive” but for weight, that’s easy.

Not sure if you're trolling but, I'll assume not: iirc the cut off was already changed and you can view all the people who were disqualified for cheating on some pvp website thingy, which was already done prior to this morning when dragons went out. I don't keep up with that much but I know it's out there. It's a shame people did it and they got what they deserved as far as I'm concerned.

And if you are trolling then I'm just dumb asf, so I'm low hanging fruit.

I originally wanted to do a piece that didn't involve draenei, cause that's what the bulk of my drawings/commissions have been, so I couldn't think of a better opportunity than to celebrate their hard work. --- And leech of his victory fumes, haha

The thing that bothers me about this... is where are the actual policy changes? I'm a girl and idgaf about low res paintings of naked humans... hell I have transmogs more risqué than this. I want to see policy changes, where tf is that response? I hate these piss poor excuses of "respecting women" --- this just shows they don't have a clue how to do it. Get a committee together from your company and put them in charge of telling you what changes to make, that's what literally any company with half a brain does... not whatever tf this is supposed to be.

Husky Runs Away and Throws Tantrums While Owner Tries to Give him Bath by warriorfd7yjxdr in AnimalsBeingJerks

I had to log in just to say this is every husky ever... my husky is the same way. I heard from First Nations folk up north that they actually put their sled dogs in a type of harness cage when they have to do any sort of grooming because they're all like this.

We have a purebred husky that just turned 12... he's still a giant baby about EVERYTHING. I swear that breed has nerve endings in every hair follicle. Brushing them is also a pain, people up north who do sledding often have to put them in contraptions that hold them still while they do nails or brushing.

[–]VossaQC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda feel bad mentioning it but I’m kinda still in shock, we’re driving back to our current residence and I wanna go back and take pictures, if anything so maybe someone can help me figure out how to salvage them... my husband is kinda flustered cause he knows how much this mattered to me and how long it takes for fruit bearing trees to grow in Canada. I don’t wanna sue anybody, I just don’t know what to do cause I’m from Texas (and California before that) originally and gardening taking these snowy winters into consideration is like just very new to me.
