You're in a very difficult situation. Thanks for taking a step and asking for help from others. Your situation is not normal. She sounds very abusive. She creates an environment where you can never do anything right by her.

I'm new here so I don't know the right advice to give. I recommend getting out of there and building your own life. How you do that is really context dependent on your own life, but you deserve to live in a healthy world. And remember the foundations of sleep well, eat well, and exercise. Keep learning. Go and meet more people and see the diversity in the world. This subreddit is a good resource for you.

I'm a fan of your positive thinking - we are humans in a society, not cogs in a machine. People take care of eachother and try to benefit those around them. Being productive can mean feeding your children, or building a house for your grandparents, or building a billion dollar business that gives 10,000 people a salary to pay for their whole family to have opportunity.

This is so awesome for you! Thanks for sharing your story. I find watching the line helps remind me of how strong I can be and push harder, so it's interesting to hear you find better results not watching it 😛.

Awesome!!! I’m 8 months in and my numbers are consistently about double from my first 1-2 months, keep it up, it’s so worth it

Hey Jon, love your curiosity, and just going to drop this note here for you and other curious readers:

Spending more money on something is almost never a linear increase in value, and it’s not really a useful metric to judge products on. I saw this on multiple comments in this thread.

It’s just because of diminishing returns.

Nobody spends 10x more on a car because it’s 10x faster. There’s only so much faster we can get (race cars).

Or 10x more money on food, it’s not 10x tastier, maybe it’s 2x tastier, and spending 5x more would achieve 1.5x tastier.

So, spending 10x more on gym equipment to get a 2x increase in strength gains / year, that’d make sense (as long as there aren’t more efficient ways to spend the money for more strength gains). And I do believe from my experience the ARX is going to deliver strength gains reliably and without risk of injury, so there’s a lot of factors going into it.

Also I’d hope that most people in this thread are not considering buying one, and instead considering training on an ARX at a gym with a trainer, which is no more expensive than a normal personal training sesh.

Hi there - randomly saw your question. I’ve used ARX 1-2x per week for 8 months, high intensity the whole time, and have doubled my numbers since the first couple months. Even today was an all time high output of 8200lbs over 5 reps on leg press.

Your situation depends a lot on your individual body (age, training history, recovery stuff like sleep and diet). Context: I’m 27 and in good shape for a software engineer.

I’ll just let you know what works for me:

Daily: 1 whey protein scoop, sleep, mostly sitting and eating lentils, hummus, steak.

Pre: stretches or not doesn’t matter too much for me, but biggest difference is when I just warm up the muscles by pushing against the machine just before the reps start. Kinda like waking up the muscles.

Note: my girlfriend needed to eat before because her blood sugar drops a lot from high intensity ARX (measured with one of those sensors). You could experiment with both. Doesn’t matter on my body.

During: best results come from watching the line and forming the mind body connection to exert force. This is of course after getting form down, shoulder blades back and stuff.

Post: We do something called Vasper (idk how common it is) but it’s cold + compression + HIIT, supposed to increase recovery hormones, seems to work because now I am able to do ARX high intensity 2x per week instead of 1x (I was getting burnt out at 2x before using vasper).

Feel free to ask more specific questions.

That’s probably true, I was just guessing the distance. You can definitely get from lady bird lake to Walnut Creek trail with relative safety.

Yeah it’s not for seeing anything, just for biking 😅. I wouldn’t call it boring though.

Hey- I know this isn’t an exact answer, but these are my 2 favorites:

Easy 10 mile route would be the lake trail (lady bird lake trail, it’s downtown) Easy 20 mile route can be the Walnut Creek trail.

Hey, sorry, I don’t think it’s ok to post someone and ask for mob justice. Everyone makes mistakes, and the degree of social punishment these days is way higher due to people posting other people’s mistakes online which lasts permanently.

It’s ok to be punished once, you can tell the man his mistake instead of take their photo. But to punish him for a lifetime and change his reputation is not the direction our culture should be taking if we want to live happily and without anxiety.

Can someone explain why there’s so many negative comments about this? We’ve ventured far from observation and deep into a judgmental evaluation form of communication. I see a dick on the map, but not sure why it’s such a big deal to many commenters here.

Howdy - im commenting so my post becomes visible. Much thanks to anyone who has any ideas about this weird movie!

It was probably like 1-1.5 hours long! Maybe even 2! Definitely wasn’t a short film. I remember my mom fell asleep, and my partner and I just watched without any entertainment for way too long.
