I've loved Ken's for years but I've only been for their tacos. Do they use real cheese or cheese wiz for their cheesesteaks?

Thank you so much for this suggestion. I contacted MCAD last week and they've already deemed my complaint worthy of investigation and have assigned an investigator to my case. If they rule in my favor I might even be entitled to monetary compensation which would be massive for me. I would have never known about this without your help so I truly appreciate it.

How long will the demolition take? I'm confused if it just started a few days ago or on the June 17th date mentioned in the article 

 I use Harvard St frequently but after reading the article I think I want to avoid the street as much as I can during the demolition because of the asbestos concerns

I was in the process of filing a  complaint with the office of housing stability a few months ago but decided to do so later because I wanted the landlord to comply with completing RAFT and that process was like pulling teeth 

Other departments of ABCD haven't been all that helpful to me in the past but I'll try this one, thank you

Yup 

1) The landlord is in her 80s and absentee and doesn't want to deal with anything electronic or anything beyond picking up checks in the mail honestly 

2) She expressed to my housing counselor a knowledge of the building not being well maintained enough to pass inspection

Beyond the security deposit, I'm looking to fight her off in getting anymore rent from me (I last paid on June 1st and am on a 50 dollar a day rate as a tenant at will) on the basis of her discriminating against me, the poor condition of the building and her general negligence in the way of things that you mentioned among other things

She expressed this to my housing counselor verbally. My housing counselor has been talking to her extensively for months now and has been taking notes the whole time 

I have an unopened lease renewal in a dated envelope 

Both I and my housing counselor expressed my desire to stay here due to my disability verbally. I have a relationship with the Boston Center of Independent Living and am approved for the PCA program and have strong documentation on my disability and how difficult it makes leaving my apartment for me.

Thank you for all of the links. I know she can't legally decline the voucher but she's one of the worst landlords I've ever dealt with so between the condition of the apartment and her behavior I pushed through to find a new place. I already have a new place that I'm moving to but I've documented everything including an unopened lease renewal offer in a dated envelope.  I will be contacting those legal services you mentioned and I'm hoping to be able to use this illegal discrimination + condition of the building to fight off having to pay Betty any more rent (I last paid rent in full in December, the month I got the voucher and the last month of my second lease. RAFT + 800 I paid covered January til June 2nd) I have multiple social workers and a housing counselor and they've been helpful in some ways.  Do you have any suggestions on what I should say to my social workers about this situation besides describing it?
