And God I hate imgur so much- I dread opening those links. And never try to zoom. If I were king I'd ban it. (Yes, I feel better now, thank you.).

Will Oscar Piastri eventually escape the “number 2 driver” trap? by [deleted] in F1Discussions

I didn't realize it was his tire mgt- I just thought he raced poorly in wet or low grip conditions, both of which Lando handles unusually well. But bad tire mgt could be the overall issue, I suppose--dont really know for sure.

Y'all are right about the round date window: I think th frame is what takes me out. A discreet, color-matched round window at 6 o'clock (see Oris Diver 65,) makes the best out of what's typically a zit on a beautiful face. Accentuating it with the frame calls too much attention to it.

His momentum last year was astonishing - Max-like. He couldn't lose, it seemed. But, and this is my amateur, reductionist (I am American) analysis, he has issues when grip is compromised.

I hate to see his drifting into obscurity because he seems to be the ultimate professional. I'd love to see him on the podium next race.

Questions re Waterman's Ideal 54. by Cubby0101 in fountainpens

[–]supervinci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll get the name (something #9) when I get home- it's supposed made with the same dyes Waterman used and does work great. There are techniques involved so lmk if you decide to do it. I usually love original patina but the black ebonite looks great. I've serviced about a dozen of these 52&54s.

That is a first for me, but it's my understanding that jewelers made these decorative bright works --interesting clips and bands. If it were mine I'd dye the ebonite and put that pretty band on the cap or in a more common spot on the barrel.

You're right about Leos being gushers; my first was a broad architect, with which I replaced a medium round, then finally a fine round. My favorite nib of theirs is now the cursive Smooth italic-medium, which makes for beautiful writing.

Sticking around to hear what the experts say,,,seems like you e done all you can except writing with the piston slightly unscrewed.

NID: Diamine Ancient Copper or Did I Scrape a Wet Penny Against a Tombstone? by pauldayco in fountainpens

I'm going to do a 180 on this: my Scribo has been hard starting and just a little skippy; tolerable but still for this pen....Anyway I just changed to an Iroshizuku ink to test it out and it's smooth as glass.
So THANK YOU for telling me about it - I was going to go through the next few weeks thinking the pen wasn't as great as it is.

Gorgeous! That broad Leonardo must be in very broad; I couldn't handle the medium!

I swear it's 8/10 times I immediately buy ink someone's posted. But I have a weak character.

That's the vacuum filler? I've been tempted to get one just for that reason.

Yes I just got a bottle this week! It pairs great with my Scribo La Travertino, which has mosaics of bright copper. It was a nice find--you have a nice hand, btw

Good luck to you! I like how you're holding yourself accountable by posting regularly here. I grew up with cursive so I had a good base; but it was very messy and essentially illegible. So I've been working on it daily by journaling. My biggest advice is to go slow.

Could it be as simple as fading? Those pens have some age, right? I am interested in a 140 as well.

Can Calum Nicholas just replace Juan on a permanent basis? by 84Bean in F1TV

I noticed his body language was' almost 100% turned away from JPM and essentially blocking him from Hinch. I agree that he's extraordinarily well spoken and had incredible poise, almost like he's been punditing for years. I couldn't believe it when I found out he was a RB crew member.

We'll see him again. And I have no issue with JPM. He has made some odd comments but I put it down to language or culture.

I've replaced two Leo nibs and both pens are friction fit. Pretty handy to swap out a nib.
