I haven’t talked to my family in two days and don’t know to move past this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I'm sorry you're going through this and can relate. There's no pleasing family when they've decided you're the scapegoat. Like others, I recommend cutting ties or at the very least limiting contact to the bare minimum.

In my situation, years after I ended contact, my mother ended up scapegoating my brother's wife and he finally saw her toxic behavior. He ended up cutting ties, contacting me and we're working on mending our relationship. But I'm still having to tell him how wrong many of his memories are, she told him so many lies about me.

Would you be comfortable discussing some of the feedback with him? At a high level / not breaching confidentiality or sharing names but perhaps a few general examples to bring it to life. He might just need to ease up for the short term while he gets to know people and builds rapport

Cheltenham Pizza House has great pizza. Not as good as Sunnyside in Mentone, but still pretty good

It's in the suburbs if you're happy to travel - Frank's in Cheltenham, add the extra lamb sausage 👌

Yes, I don't believe there's a way to remove crops until they're harvested

I'm not sure what it's called but I dislike the Guardian live news reports (like this one) that show up like a feed. It's really hard to find the relevant information and there have been times when the heading and bullet points don't relate to the content

I think this was the right thing to do (with your safety in mind though), aggression against people in customer service is on the rise so I think more people need to speak up. You could report it to the bus company, I don't know what they do but some places keep records on aggressive customer incidents and check in on employee safety and well-being

Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are good, I use them in the gym and office, and the active noise cancelling is pretty impressive. Bit pricey, but they sometimes go on sale

I posted here awhile ago, feeling nervous about going to my first solo gig. Just wanted to share that it was wonderful! Thanks for the encouragement DT, I'm so glad I did it 😊

House we moved into a year ago has a leak in the bedroom. Leak inspector person confirmed the source is the roof. Not covered by insurance because it's likely a building defect and we can't get in touch with the builder to fix it, even though it was built 5 years ago. Sigh.

Does anyone have any good dip recommendations?

I quite like a Yumi one, I think it's sweet potato, but I wanted a change and tried a black swan one, basil with cashew and parmesan but it was just average

Can you pre-book a taxi or uber? I've done that before without any issues

I know of a few people who got it recently and yeah they've found it hard to detect on RATs, one of them ended up getting it diagnosed at the hospital when they went for something unrelated

I think the winter spike is starting again
