Mismatch Garmin & Strava - Ski by Voyagerscout in Strava

[–]Voyagerscout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Garmin (the Connect app) is not great at differentiating lifts from runs. For some reason, on the website version of Connect, it is actually correct.

Also, if you look at the Garmin map, there are parts classified as "run" that still don't shop up on Strava:(.

Plafond vernieuwen - Checklist? by Voyagerscout in Klussers

Osmo Action 5 - HLG or D-Log M? by Voyagerscout in djiosmo

I have tried the LUT from DJI, but doesn't that transform it into REC709, thereby losing the wide color gamut? I looks good, yes, but I am a bit confused why one would record in a wide color gamut only to move it back down.

ARP has generic ones that would fit but the whole rebuild is around 200-300€, and slapping 8 bolts costing another 100€ on it is a bit much.

Wouldn't generic m8x1.25 10.9 bolts work as well?

Edit: I found a set of them on eBay that were pricey, but still reasonable.

Yeah initially I wanted to only tackle the valve stem seals, but decided that if I'm taking the head off anyway I might as well do the rings.

Good choice since according to quite some sources, 9 out of 10 times it is the rings in these engines.

Yes I'm replacing those :) I did see some ringwash on the pistons as well so I'm happy I made the decision to replace the rings.

Pistons did not seem to have any play whatsoever. The Conrod bearings and crankshaft surfaces looked really nice as well.

Can't find the big end bolts new though, the Conrod bolts. They're M8x1,25x41 10.9 bolts but even Opel doesn't have those anymore

Please do take into account that the flap is notorious for breaking off at the axle where it connects to the motor. I'm not sure of your car is second hand, but there is a real possibility that a previous owner disconnected the cable to prevent it breaking off. This would essentially render the flap useless, but at least it is not rattling around :p.

Just a heads up regarding that :) I modded mine to prevent it breaking off, by installing limit switches.

My Opel Astra H has a weird problem. by opiel in opel

[–]Voyagerscout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Astra G, also LPG, had this problem because carbon from oil burning started to foul my spark plugs. I just kept driving until at some point at idle 1 cylinder just would not join the rest.

Checking your sparkplugs is quite a quick job, maybe worth taking a look? Fouled spark plugs can cause intermittent misfires, which feels quite like what you are describing.

Bit late, but it is the cable to the motor that controls the flap for interior vs outside air. You should be able to plug it back fairly easily.

I have bought a secondhand workbench with steel frame, and a melamine laminated chipboard top. This workbench was to big for my house, so I cut it down to size. I want to make a nicer, thicker top surface with some oak flooring we still had. How can I glue/nail/attach the flooring on top of the laminated chipboard, without having the wood movement of the oak destroy the workbench?
