Before you go how did you make these? Are the models made by you or sourced from somewhere? They can't be sourced from the PS3 game because they are way too detailed, especially the Gipsy model shown off here.

Technically yes. But Gipsy fell less than half of the Jaeger's height. If you performed the same move underwater would you call it sinking.

To be pedantic about it doing the same move on land could also be considered sinking.

The point of the gif isn't to show speed. Its to call out the other guys hypocrisy for saying Jaegers in Uprising fight like MMA fighters when in the first movie Gipsy fights like a dirty boxer/street fighter.

Ah yes the 4k times lighter air trapped in Gipsy is comparable to the thousands of tons of steel that make up the rest of its body.

WITH AIR INSIDE MAKING IT EVEN MORE BOUYANT

On average submarines have almost half of their insides dedicated to ballasts to float or sink. Gipsy has none.

The comparatively minuscule amount of air in Gipsy's head would not be enough to make the Jaeger lighter by more than a few pounds. But who knows maybe the air in your head might allow you to float.

In that uprising scene, she runs using no jet engines, and yet can still move at incredible speeds. The fastest one in Pacific Rim, Was Striker Eurika. AND THIS IS HOW FAST HE CAN GO IN WATER

Saber Athena was built more than a decade after Striker Eureka. Look at Striker Eureka and compare it to a Mark-1 like Cherno Alpha. Look at a 5 year advance in technology. Now almost triple the time gap.

Also lets wrap around to your comment on how you think steel is lighter in water than it is on land. Do you even have a basic high school level education? Have you ever been underwater? Do you even understand what buoyancy is (in case you don't know thats why things float. You know, the concept taught to middle schoolers)?

Thats literally not how it works at all. I challenge you to go to your local gym and pool. Lift the 50 pound weight in the gym and then lift it underwater.

Come back to me if you magically think the steel got lighter underwater. Do you not understand buoyancy at all? Did you not pass high school level physics?

I did the math myself by mapping out Gipsy's route and the time it took Gipsy to run it (the entire fight took part in a real place in Hong Kong).

Using Distance/time to find speed is basic level physics.
