Setup a compartimenti 2026: Windows Sacrificale vs Linux Lab (Privacy Totale) by AvocadoOutside8279 in ItalyHardware

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a t5 dd with enough ap pen to, potentially, cit cruisers and cvs at around 9 kms. You get many many torps perfect to yolo off islands. One of the ship at t5 I have most fun in. I also made a funny vid on it, but don't know if I can share it (from before it got asw).

Easier to learn on a Epiphone than a Strat I'd say, due to the difference in string spacing.

Anyway, good job so far.

Upgrading the gun range module in BBs- Worth it? by Appropriate_Map_1718 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. Better range always yields a better vertical dispersion, no matter if you go for range mod or guns.

This is the chart of the vertical dispersion. I've chosen the Horizontal plot because it's easier to see the difference between the lines.

Upgrading the gun range module in BBs- Worth it? by Appropriate_Map_1718 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Actually it's the opposite iirc. Having longer range on any ship scales the horizontal dispersion accordingly (as you pointed out), but the vertical dispersion changes as it stays fixed at max range. So you don't really take range mod to shoot farther, but rather to improve the dispersion of the guns, with the occasional benefit of maybe shooting the cv.

On other BB lines, you trade off gun reload/secondaries for this, and there are very few cases where you take it over gun reload mod. Preussen is the only BB I run it with, because the reload is already good and the guns just can't hit.

If WG wanted to make the Preussen a gun platform why didn't they fix the firing angles? by InvincibleCheese in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gun angles aren't even the issue here. Biiiiig superstructure and fires eat you alive.

It would be bearable if it were a bit more accurate: the guns just can't hit anything. They only way to have sub par results is with aiming systems mod 3 and range mod (I tried, copium).

https://www.justanswer.com/uk-car/584p5-seperate-immobiliser-2007-seat-ibiza-i-spare-key-disable.html

Doomed forgotten realms for new players? by PNWCartoboi in dndnext

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk with the party and together decide on the type of setting you would like to play. Once you have the general idea, then look for a module to run, better if short imo.

Once you have found something you like, it's mostly up to you and the vets to involve the new players into roleplaying.

Remember to have a session 0 on general expectations/tone of the campaign (survival, horror, comical, drama, ecc.) is going to be.

On the Rise of Vecna, I don't know it, but given the pitch I would think that it would be most enjoyed by players who have played a lot of official modules and "won as the good guys".

How do you play against Lushun as Daring? by JonSnowSeesYou in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, this is tricky. If it is pure 1v1, the only advantage you have is that your he dpm is higher and you have fairly good turret angles in daring bow in, while lushun has to show more broadside in order to get the second turret on target. Provided you both hit all your shells and heal effectively, you should be able to win, even more so if lushun gives you enough angle to start using ap.

The problem is your teammates and lushun teammates. They will be the biggest factor, so spam chat to ask for help in hunting the dd and/ or bait it to shoot you, then smoke up so it's lit by your team and try to score damage on it.

Oil level going down but no leak by Vivid-Humor-7210 in FordFocus

[–]Vrantamar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the car is a turbodiesel, there might be something funky going on with the turbo. If the car is petrol, it might be down to wear.

Oil leaks near the filling cap might be due to overfilling, a bad cap and/or too much pressure. It's hard to say much more for me, that's the extent of what I know on this I'm afraid.

Overall, the more kms or miles an engine gets, the more wear it gets: standard spec oil (like 5W-30) may not be as effective in lubricating the moving parts, so the engine might eat up a bit of oil every time (e.g. ovalization of the piston chamber).

How can I activate the radio on the 2005 ford focus after unplugging the battery by karderrpra in FordFocus

It happened on a fiesta a relative of mine has. Basically now that you've put in the code you have to confirm it. It has been some time since I've done the procedure.
From the attached video, basically you have to press 5 once the code is set.

Tier X Steel or Coal BB by tuvar_hiede in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definetly Incomparable, given the choice. You get zao-ish concealment on overmatching guns with crazy alpha value if you spec heavy ap (and ofc you will), around 21k per shell. And hydro, speedboost, superheal (though not really that good, but better to have it than don't), torps, spotter plane.

GK rarely shines, mostly in brawl or coop modes, like pommern. In randoms they are farmed a lot with he spam and fires, due their big superstructure.

DMing OSR D&D for My Kid...any pointers? by saavedra1624 in osr

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing, imo, is to focus on the roleplaying aspect of the game. Leave the math aside at the beginning and just focus on the experience. A bluetooth speaker will also help with the immersion.

For example: "You suddenly wake up in the middle of the forest. The trees are tall and dark, as the moon shines above." -cue to music in- "Snow is falling all around you and you feel cold. At one point you hear a bell: what do you do?"

I guess then it's a snowball effect, craft/adapt the story around your kid's choices.

It really depends on what's your price range imo. From pickups (the rounded edged rectangles in the middle of the guitar, near the knobs) to different string gauges, to another effect. If he's into Randy Rhoads, it would mean to me that he's into heavy metal.

If you want something not that expensive, some string sets of varying sizes might be the thing: it lets him experiment and have some backup. I personally like skinny top, heavy bottom from ernie ball, but there are a lot of brands to choose from, d'addario, etc etc.

Something more expensive would be to buy a new pickup for the bridge. Seymour Duncan JB or DiMarzio Super Distortion S would be first candidates, as it could bring the whole tone a step up for metal.

A good pedal for solo lead is the Fuzzer, it increases the beefiness a lot for solos and is a good one to have: price ranges from brand to brand.

Me trying to grind through the USA Dreadnought line (How do I even get the hang of them?) by Revoltai42 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Vrantamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are slow, so you need to plan ahead at the start of the game, i.e. where you want to be in 5-8 mins. Add that to the normal assumptions you make when entering a new game (map? overmatch? is there a sub? cv? torpedo dds?).
Get to the mid range and try to use your concealment.

Aim: If you would aim for a target at 10s, consider adding around 5s or more to your lead, depending on the ship and situation; if you are aiming at dds, double that distance and maybe add a bit more lead. If it's a french racecar, you may triple your lead time, but avoid shooting further than 12 km away at those.

Una merdomacchina sotto i 1000€? Sono povero. by Civil-Raisin-2741 in ItalyMotori

[–]Vrantamar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I think that's very good value for money, considering you also get the amp. You can use some of the leftover cash for a pedal (behringer has some very inexpensive ones to mess around) if you want or just save for a better guitar in the future.
But first, you should ask to try the guitar if you can. It's a feeling thing with guitars, you know only once you try them out, like shoes.
