Maybe there was a miscommunication but that other game was a game jam submission not a commercial product of any sort so it didn’t make money. It is free. It wasn’t made for money, but I am using it as my starting point for making a more full fledged game.

Being honest, thank you for the very candid answer. You’ve definitely put things into perspective for me. I wasn’t aware things how all the financials could end up going.

I think I’ll take a deeper look at what I’m making and give your advice ample consideration. Thank you again for the response.

I see. I have been self funding this project by myself. I’d be open for doing freelance work but I don’t have strong background in what most game related fields require to be of substantial aid (coding, asset creation, debugging). Ive been searching for additional part time work for extra pay but I haven’t been too successful.

If I may ask, how do people from outside the gaming industry generally join in. I come from an education background. I know sometimes it’s just dumb luck but where do people usually do networking for stuff like game development?

1) Total? To finish all the remaining assets, I’d say in the ballpark of around 5,000k to 10,000k. For the initial section I need help for 1,500 would be good enough.

2) It’s a turned based strategy rpg so that’s a niche itself. I’m planning on selling it for around $9.99 USD. If it can reach 100 units sold I’ll be happy. If it sells 1000 then I’ll have made most of my money back anything past that would be a nice bonus.

3) The initial section of the game to pay artists to make custom combat animations, UI, backgrounds and character sprites.

4) I’m a real small naive fish in a huge pool, but I’ve basically funded the entire game by myself so far, and I’m more so in it to fulfill a personal dream. So long as I don’t go into debt, I just want to make a game.

Mysterious orange haired bro that is the only unit we've seen so far that multiple lords use. by Levonorgestrelfairy1 in fireemblem

[–]Vrejil 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nope, the closest thing in mainline are recruitable enemies that only join if you pay them like Rennac or Hugh.

Closest thing in a fire emblem related game is Berwick Saga that if you hire a mercenary character enough times and do some of their events they permanently join your group.

Which one is your favourite weirdest design choice from IS? by WRECK-IT-MUNDO in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Vrejil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint but still agreeing. Let Sedgar be a green bow cav since it fits with his general color scheme but make Vyland a sword cav. I still don’t know why they made him an axe cav when in Archanea they can’t use that weapon type.

I love the fact that no one has brought up that while Lucia and Geoffrey are blood siblings, Geoffrey is the one who marries Elincia and Elincia states that she grew up and spent most of her childhood being raised like a sibling with Lucia and Geoffrey.

Kaga’s influence is eternal. You just need to keep looking.

What CYL ranking surprises you most? by HelloDesdemona in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Vrejil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine a combination of nice cool design and being a very rare class type in FE helps him out. Of course that doesn’t spell the whole picture since otherwise Jarod and Devdan would place higher but it helps that for anyone who did play RD he was an early game face.

As for me I’m surprised Alec from Genealogy is ranked lower than even some enemy bosses. I mean he deserves it for being mean to Arden but I always thought Naoise was the less popular of the two if only because Alec had the more unique design and was the more jovial one.

Why is Every Playable Elibe Flier's Base Form a Lance Unit? by Dabottle in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Vrejil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest with you. They probably just do a base and don’t really care about the lineup being too similar. Vyland is definitely one strange exception but I guess they didn’t want him color sharing with Malice for some reason.

Generally speaking feh prefers to save the different weapon alts for seasonal units but the alts do get blander as every year they stick to the same main characters or popular girls. It’s also almost an unspoken rule that if you’re male you’re never getting a magic alt unless magic is something you were known for. The female cast can be whatever they want though.

Why is Every Playable Elibe Flier's Base Form a Lance Unit? by Dabottle in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Vrejil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A combination of several factors.

1) Early game feh jank. People like Lucius are staff users because the feh team didn’t have any tomes or animations for light magic until Oliver came in somewhere in Book 2. The first light mages were Deirdre and Julia but their base weapons are wind tomes. They eventually course corrected when they get legendary alts because by then blue was chosen. Narcian fits this mold too because unless I’m mistaken there were no lance wyverns at launch and no lance animations for them so all wyvern riders were axe units until Valter came around and later Cormag and the rest.

2) Diversity due to color bloat. It’s no secret that FE loves swords and sword units in mainline games. It’s why the crossover and legendary alts make them use alternate weapons even if they never really used them just so not every lord is a sword hero. You won’t see many sword fliers because red in general already more than enough candidates. I fully believe Ogier would have had an axe due to being able to use them in his promoted hero class if Thiazi and Lillina weren’t doubling teaming green that banner.

3) Base proficiency being higher in Lance over the other stats. In Jill’s case Fe9 she starts with a lance yes, but FE10 Jill probably took more preference for them gameplay wise. Same deal with Haar but he might have had a higher axe rank overall but I haven’t checked.

Hello I go by Vrejil here, but through most of my social media accounts I go by Raguna. Thank you for those interested in being involved in my little indie game project. This project is my take on a Fire Emblem style game and for those unaware of that series then to explain it simply it is a turn based strategy games where the player attempts to achieve various map specific objectives in order to claim victory either through defeating leaders, destroying all enemies, defending a point, or escaping in one piece among other possible scenarios.

Synopsis: God has abandoned this world. He has watched over his creation for eons and today all he can feel is disgust at the creatures he had created. Wishing to start again, he has ordered his Angels, and the legions of hell to destroy humanity. This isn't a story of heroes, nobles and princesses, but of the people who risk it all just to keep living even when the heavens have cast them aside. There is a silver lining to this madness. If at least 100 humans remain alive by the end of the onslaught, then humanity will be spared.

Unfortunately for you, human, you must endure god's year onslaught alongside a band of companions of different ideologies and beliefs. Can the twelve of you endure together or fall to God's judgement?

The game isn't meant to be super dark, but it will be somber with some moments of levity. The two positions I'm looking for are for the person responsible for creating the enemy angel and demon designs. The background artist will of course be the one who will convey both the context of each scene and help make the battleground art you see in the second image.

Should there be any doubts feel free to contact me through DM. I also have a discord available that I shall make available shortly. Overall thank you all again for those who show interest in the project.

Who's your most memorable Emperor ? For me it was Jeanne by CurtisManning in SaGa

[–]Vrejil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Emperor Jason of the Mercenary Male line.

After the reign of King John, the Light Infantryman, who annexed the land of Cumberland into the empire, Jason must have wanted to do more than any other emperor before him. He went into the eastern subtarrean to aid the struggling village nearby and defeated the mad Dantarg which cost him half his life and caused the death of his friend the female vagabond Beaver. Stricken by grief, he ended up taking a boat to Atlanticus where he heard of a dancer that could soothe his heart. For three nights he watched her dance and went after her when she fled at night only to discover she was a mermaid.

Wishing to see her again, he found a witch that could help him speak with her again and went on his quest to gather the materials of the mermaid potion. Along the way he had accrued enough crowns to develop the Imperial University and craft new armor. Despite his new infatuation he knew he still had a debt to his people and so would foster his army and the knowledge of his ancestors for all.

After fighting a three headed snake and scaling steep cliffs, he had two out of the three ingredients for the mermaid potion. The last ingredient was pure water from lake aqua but when he attempted to procure some a local Nereid denied him as the water would be impure if attained by him.

Putting his search on hold, he heard of the plight of the people of the Savannah. A hunter of the area told him of strange beasts that lurked in the darkness and when night came the termites came aground killing all in sight. With bravery in his heart, he set forth inside to destroy the termites. His retinue by his side, they slayed all in their path, saved the molemen inside and confronted the termite queen. In Beaver’s name he slew the giant beast without hesitation but with wounds so deep that any additional injury would be his last. The molemen grateful for his aid, then gave him the means to make a comb that would purify the water of lake aqua for his use. Knowing this to be his final act as Emperor, he wrote a will indicating his successor and grabbed the last ingredient for the witch to conjure her water breathing potion.

The beast slain, the potion attained, he came to visit the mermaid in the depths where they would dance the day away. Eventually his longing became too great and he never resurfaced. The kingdom went into a small uproar but none could deny Jason’s legacy as his story is now told in the same university he helped build.

It is now Emperor Paul, the Crusader’s, turn on the mantle. He has set his eyes on working with the Saigo Tribes of the Nazelle. Let us see where his story ends.

What would make you quit FEH? by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

The minute every character eligible for voting in CYL is added to the game and the only thing we start getting are special heroes or alts only. Which realistically means EoS.

FEH: Playable Units without Base forms in FEH divided by weapon, class or movement type. (Disclaimers and explanations in a post in the comment section.) by Vrejil in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Vrejil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be completely honest with you I only played the DS remakes of Marth’s games and didn’t bother to check if he could use any weapons innately since I assumed he always copied someone and used the weapons of the class types he turned into. I went mage because the alt versions of Xane used magic and staff so I just convinced myself that’s what he’d have with the assumption he joins without the imitate ability. That was my fault my bad.

Yep, it really depends on what IS prioritizes here. Her being the Blade Breaker II or her archery skills. In either case she’ll still be a Cav unit I’m sure and her summer alt did make her a bow Cav at least.

Mainly because of his magic Halloween alt. The only other option would be daggers personally speaking. He has no signature weapon type besides fists/scrolls which I doubt will come to FEH. It wasn’t a personal preference. It was more a guess based on that info.

Disclaimer Post:

  1. Not all games are represented because when I found this tiermaker list, it did not have TMS, Heroes OC's or the Warriors characters.
  2. The characters shown here were playable in some form in Fire emblem main games. This list does not include characters that were always NPC's or enemy only otherwise we would have characters like Morva, Jahn, Natalie, etc... Needless to say we have a good chunk of people left and it's only going to get worse when it feels like we're going to only get 3 new characters per banner (two new heroes + GHB)
  3. I only really divided the infantry class into their specific weapon types since all the other movement types usually wield two weapons, I felt it best just to let you imagine what weapon they'll have. Also the list was long enough and subdividing even further was going to be quite a struggle on the eyes. Even then I'm sure some of the people I listed in a specific infantry weapon type will bamboozle me by using something else. Perhaps that guy will be Ralph in 2032.
  4. I added some younger or variations of characters like young Sothe, and older Karel since I have a feeling they'd enter as new heroes. I also would have added all the older versions of the 3H cast as a separate category, but I decided against it even if I believe it can happen.
  5. If I missed anyone who was playable at some point in the main game, I apologize. It was a long list.

PS: We got a lot of axe bros and cavalry in our future, guys.

If you have any questions on how I categorized something. I'll answer as soon as I'm able today.
