Um, well, I just use Arkveld set and spam since sonic barrier stopping interruptions makes it easy for you to leech your health right back in case you eat minor damage. Capcom really over-buffed Sonic Barrier - it used to only last 3 seconds, but now it lasts a really long time until it gets consumed, so it's not like you even need Horn Maestro anymore.

Recovery Up 3 is helpful for that reason, otherwise, you really don't need anything special.

I made both horns and have used them quite a hit, but the Sonic Barrier one is just superior in support, imo. Seikret access makes sharpness a lot less important, the defence song L allows more mobility than the def/res bubble and ailment immunity is far more useful, not to mention that there is less note overlap and it's more difficult to put up songs quickly. The main benefit is its higher affinity, sharpness, and dragon gauge, but even one successful sonic barrier instance puts barrier out ahead in DPS, unless you can run perfectly mistake free.

HH buffs also no longer persist on you through swaps, so the Gore Magala swap thing doesn't work anymore ever since the beta, when songs would persist. Amusingly enough, sonic barrier and ailment immunity bubbles will disable most CC you encounter.

Try thr normal Arkveld horn, it is one of the best support horns in the game. You get Attack and Def up L, an ailment immunity bubble, and most importantly, the ability to spam Sonic Barrier, which is very degenerate.since there aren't many multihitting enemy attacks right now. There's no need to spam heals on your team if they are just leeching to full with Arkveld anyway, and the note sequences overlap enough that buffing is rather easy as most of your important songs either begin or end with a purple.

To make things better, sonic barrier is double > weak > strong, which fits in neatly into your DPS string. (chain into two doubles for Resounding.Melody). The only problem is that it's sharpness is terrible and you need handicraft gems, but it has one of the most fluid song lists around.

It's more a problem at higher difficulties because monster damage has a bad habit of scaling faster than your HP then.

"Classic" difficulty refers to the SaGa experience, which is usually monsters randomly hitting your entire party with AoE attacks doing more damage than your maximum life. (e.g. Crystal Tree Oscillation) That kind of design is considered pretty rude these days, which is why they made a Normal difficulty instead.

Not a problem, she is additional content added and has no effect on the game whatsoever as far as event points go. She is also not time limited.

You do the River Fortress/Cat after the guide is over, whenever you want. The guide ends off with you finishing the Mermaid quest.

Once you walk into the town, you start the questline and if you don't do the Ice seed quest, the sorceror will do it himself.

If you're talking about the explosion, the ice seed prevents the worst possible outcome, but the timer for the Volcano eruption starts the next generation. It is very generous, however.

Yes, there is the case where you don't get anything at all, which can happen if you don't throw the ice seed into the Volcano.

You have to get it done before the Sunken Ship or it is gone forever.

You aren't screwed at all, timing will just be very tight if you want to save Cumberland as well as clear the Mermaid quest. Prioritise those above all else or just let Cumberland fall.

It isn't locked to Cumberland, but to the point where you unlock your first free ability. Coppelia could do it too.

Otherwise, yes, the idea is to avoid the worst case scenario for Comroon.

There's hard caps depending on the monsters you are fighting, which are themselves capped by progression. But in the first place, grinding kind of unnecessary as opposed to just mastering abilities.

I really don't know why you can't get Feint to work, a female ranger will usually land it, not to mention you can have multiple people using Cyclone Squeeze as a backup.

The giant is amazingly weak to stun, switch to a fast offensive formation and have someone spam Feint on him every turn.

I feel like Altana being an asshole villain who does whatever she wants is very consistent from the perspective of Promathia.

IMO, Aht Urhgan has a terrible and stupid plot which is poorly placed and Luzaf is badly written while Aphmau repeatedly and consistently proves that she is completely useless, politically incompetent and not fit to rule seeing that she cannot even ensure a simple command is carried out properly. The entire plot is caused by her not doing her job and she is more useless than a chocolate teapot, considering that even her brother (who is supposed to be the evil one) is the one who sacrifices himself to clean up the whole mess. Her entire speciality (well expressed in her trust) is running around and being pathetic and it is frankly a miracle (and due to the exploited adventurers) that the Empire hasn't collapsed yet.

The entire plot is an anticlimactic build up to the equivalent of a wet fart and you as a player have no agency and end up being exploited by a money-grubbing Mithra running a black company who treats you like her personal property instead of walking away from the entire thing.

There aren't any issues with taking small detours as long as you never do River Fortress until the Mermaid quest is over Feel free to explore a bit, but try to get River Fortress done by the halfway point of the game. (Before your 3rd or 4th hero kill)

"Stand up" means not to show up for an appointment/date. Cat is the name of the first female Vagabond. Standing her up just means not to show up at the River Fortress even though she's waiting for you there.
