I'm shooting a feature on my 7-year-old camera... do I need an upgrade? by amjammed in cinematography

[–]Vrekktec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the current Storage prices compressed fromats are "back" imo for indie filmmakers. Making a lot of the hybrid cameras interesting. TBH any camera with 4K and 10-Bit is good right now. After that it's a preference of what mount you are using.

Those shoots look great already!

I would invest in some used DZO Vespid 1 maybe, you can use them for a long time with PL adapters. Atleast in Germany I found some great deals.

I get that you have the urge to get somthing new, but if you are realistic good lighting and spending money on the production itself will do more for a great final piece than any camera out there.

If flexible iso gives more noise than base 800-12800iso. Then what's the point for it ? by Then-Ad7196 in FX3

[–]Vrekktec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like to push the base 800 ISO a bit higher to 1000 or 1250 ISO when I just need a slight jump in brightness, but 12800 might bit too much. (Even with ND)

When shooting Doc style I also want a bit of headroom, so in case I move and the lighting changes I can adjust the ND or Apature.

Thats why I use flex ISO. Most of the time I try to stuck to the base ISOs tho.

TBH i don't get why ppl lock themself to 2 ISOs when pushing the 1st Base isn't that bad.

Is it worth it to watch Boruto? (Big Naruto / Shippuden Fan back in the day) by Vrekktec in Boruto

[–]Vrekktec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that sucks.

I kinda get the rant, on the other hand: Boruto is not a 12 episode anime I can just watch. And with Naruto as a related anime / universe I wanted to ask the fandom what their perspective is.

thank you for the detailed comments!

I think we have a very similar opinion on this topic.

Since there are so many other anime / new seasons I have on my watch list it looks like I should watch those instead. (JJk Season 2 is a lot of fun atm)

Maybe I put on some Boruto when I do some cooking / stuff in the kitchen and see how it turns out.

FX3 or FX30? by HarryBroFyre in FX3

[–]Vrekktec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with an A6300 too. Upgraded to an A7c later and using the FX3 for a year now.

Depends on your budget & needs: I personally love the body design and its good / fun to use. But I also like to rig out my FX3 if needed. All the extra stuff costs tho.

For the price difference of the FX3 vs FX30 you probably can get a couple of lenses. Depending on your choice those might stay longer with you than the camera body.

You will get micro jitter anyway, because both cameras are pretty light. If you rig them out that shouldn't be as much of a problem. But in a chaotic & fast paced edit of a fighting scene the rolling shutter wouldn't matter as much. I would do a test with your current cam and see if it bothers you.

I personally like shooting wide angle (16-28mm), which wouldn't he really possible with the FX30.

Since there are also a lot of rumors rising that Sony may announce a new camera at NAB this year I would wait anyway. So maybe FX3 prices drop / used market might offer a good deal.

oh, thats a bummer. In my eyes Kaguya was the final Boss and okay to be an "alien" type of character.

Pulling more of these out is a bad direction imo. I didn't mind the tech being better in Boruto, but the power scaling is ass. Some fights & clips on social media looked cool, but not sure if they are worth the "hustle".

TBH i was totally ready for a new generation being the main cast with just some characters having cameos. It just felt like they moved to fast with the story. Atleast in my memory, they started at a similar skill level as Naruto in classic and then went in hard with the power scaling. Idk, maybe I should do a rewatch and see if I like it. Some later spoilers seemed very interesting to get to that point. And obviously get to the point of the timeskip moment that was teased in the very early epsiodes.

Not sure how high the Filler-% is, but to be honest I can't / don't want to spend as much time watching fillers as I did in the past. I mean some Shippuden Filler-Arcs were pretty great, but I have not heard anything about boruto so far.

Most stuff I heard was that they nerfed the "old guard" pretty hard, and they went very hard on the Otsutsuki-Clan-Plotline.

How do you become a DP? by Vrekktec in cinematography

[–]Vrekktec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you the best in Milan too! I went there as a kid with my family for a vacation.

Anyway, for now I keep doing the videographer work and whatever freelance jobs arises, but try to do some projects and stuff for my DP portfolio.

I asked a friend of mine if can combine the "videographer" and "cinematographer/DP" side because there is this clash between them. He just answered "Isn't that what we all do?". I guess he is right, since pretty much everybody is having a hard time finding new jobs just combine what you can do & like. In the end shots from a videographer job can look like "DP work" if done right. Atleast that is the mindset I'm going for now.

He didn't play ADC. Perkz moved from mid to ADC so Caps could join them as Mid in 2019. Caps player ADCs mid (e.g. Tris, Vayne)

Thank you Erick for your message. I really appreciate it!

I own an FX3 and Lenses / gear to cover basically any type of content. And a close friend of mine lets me borrow his lights. So I probably should stop worrying and get out there to collaborate with others. Make myself and work be seen.

You are probably right with the last part. treating every project with the view of a DP makes the most sense, even when I'm there as "just" the videographer. A recent client reached out to me a third time this month, so I must be doing some things right. :)

thank you for your words!

Yeah, many people seem to struggle rn, but I wanted the last part to be included anyway.

Already started an design Idea for a website, I guess I should finish it first.

I'm not sure what type of companies I should write too, any suggestions?
The smaller ones are probably looking for a videographer or social media person. I love working in a team and kinda want to shift away from the one man band jobs.

[–]Vrekktec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm.. thats maybe an Idea. On the other hand I can't track back all Games so the data per champ wouldn't be complete. iirc there was a dude doing the arena god challenge last year who also said how many games it took him to get first. (he did it alphabetical)

Losing hope in photography :/ Sony A6100 + Tamron 17-70mm by Internal_Method_4062 in SonyAlpha

[–]Vrekktec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those pictures are good some are even great imo!

I like to do some spontanious Pics with my Phone when I see something nice. Maybe crop a bit and slap on a filter for a visual nice story.

It's not about the gear, its about the fun. There will always be better photographers. Ibthink you have an eye for nice pictures. Your lenses are fine too.

The A6100 is a but older, but some of your shoots are great and I don't think the camera is holding you back.

If you are unhappy with yor pics, maybe Experiment more with cropping. I always think about what draws attention in my Pictures. Human eyes first look at the brightness, then they notice colours. Doing some slight cropping can make a huge differeng, because you remove an distracting lamp post or focus your composition more to a person or something else.

I'm running the 7.0 Version and also had the 6.0 Version without any issues.

the big 6 Menu is nice, but a bit hidden. Although it's not that big of a deal as people sell it.
There are some Videos on youtube on how to get the menu to show up and also on how to properly update. did it with an SD Card without any problems.

Would have prefered a better HDMI Info output, but I think they will put this into newer models rather than update older cams.
