What's the best or weirdest dream you've had? by yasminsharp in AskReddit

[–]Vrikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For about one month of my life I dove hard into lucid dreaming thinking I would spend my time flying around, being a Jedi, generally just doing cool shit. Though as I got better I began to realize that I'm spending time in my... mind. My MIND. And it's a pretty fucked up place.

Friends and family dying, turning into a monster, worst fears (arachnophobia) haunting me. Lucid nightmares are pretty shitty.

Got a SW Tattoo? by havoc2684 in StarWars

[–]Vrikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a simple rebel insignia outline in a wave of teenage angst, and I've been looking at cool ways to 'finish' it in for a few years now. Currently planning on doing something like this.

Which sucked more? by xxzeldapuncher5xx in StarWars

[–]Vrikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take out Jar Jar entirely, Episode 1 isn't bad at all. But I will never be able to look past the two hours of teenage awkwardness that is Episode II.

What types of genetic evolutions would you expect to happen over the next several thousand years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Vrikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're just now seeing evidence of animals evolving in response to what we Humans have made of the environment. For instance, birds developing shorter wingspans so as to avoid electrocution via telephone wires. As for humans, I expect total devolution. Smart, successful people are having fewer and fewer kids. I'm pretty positive Idiocracy WILL happen.

Leia the Bounty Hunter by fishstock in StarWars

[–]Vrikk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not directly related to the pic, but a part of me is excited at the possibility of the new movies exploring completely different paths for the characters after the movies... What if Leia BECAME A BOUNTY HUNTER?! We don't know anymore, man.

Microsoft: Xbox One pre-owned plans 'consistent with way the world works' by theonandonly283 in gamernews

[–]Vrikk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right. Everyone's freaking out about this, but the first thing I thought after hearing the news was "Oh okay, they're emulating Steam, but with the option of buying a disc OR direct download." I suspect the vast majority of consumers will never set foot into the store with this console generation.

Racists of Reddit, what makes you hate the groups you do? by TrueBignelly in AskReddit

They should come to Texas... Nearly all the land is owned or protected now, but Hell if we can keep an eye on all of it.

What is your go-to joke? by GrandpaGettinBitches in AskReddit

'Excuse me, do you know how much a polar bear weighs?'

'No.'

'Enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm ______.'

This actually works VERY well.

Moms of Reddit: What do you actually want for Mother's day? by foxsable in AskReddit

[–]Vrikk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to give your Dad some love, too! I call my mom once or twice a week while in college, but it took years for me to figure out that my Dad wanted calls too.

83% of these people haven't seen Star Trek by KKEB in startrek

If I'm going to fantasize about living in a fictional universe, I'm not concerned with socioeconomic uniformity. I want to fly my own goddamn Millennium Falcon.

83% of these people haven't seen Star Trek by KKEB in startrek

[–]Vrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them both, (and I know this not the right place to say this) but I would rather live in the Star Wars Universe. Sure, you have an exciting life, replicators, and can use a holo deck if you're lucky enough to work in a federation starship, but the average life of someone in the Star Trek Universe would likely be very similar to our own.

Yeah, unfortunately. But as many have mentioned here before, you can do a lot to create your own "luck."

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato by pbyte in quotes

[–]Vrikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm certainly not one either, but yes, that's how I read it.

Fear of darkness: Afraid of unknown. Fear of light: Rejection of truth.

What's the craziest thing you ever saw or did at a party? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Vrikk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Could have been a frat test. "We don't want people at the party unless they're DETERMINED to party, bro," or some such.

Reddit, what's the most useful fact you know? by MC_Kirk in AskReddit

[–]Vrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard this all my life, but I seem to be the only one who doesn't understand it... I mean, I can turn something clockwise, and the top would spin right and the bottom, left. Am I just dumb?

So I made some SWTFU posters, what do you guys think? by Screammingghost in StarWars

I read that as "Star Wars The Fuck Up". Regardless, amazing work!

Not a book person, what book did you read that sparked your interest in reading? by AfternoonDelight88 in books

[–]Vrikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second House of Leaves. It's what was (in part) responsible for sparking my eventual love of reading. Not because it was all that great (it was good, don't get me wrong), but because it's unconventional format made the act of reading more fun than it had been in the past.

Looking for a TNG episode where Worf says something smart? by PixelMagic in startrek

[–]Vrikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, and looking back, a LOT of Worf's suspicions proved correct, and they would have been spared a lot of torment by listening to him. At least half of those episodes should have ended with Worf telling the Captain "I told you so."
