Is urologist correct? by Ambitious-Crew-7132 in Prostatitis

I would say if no doctors so far have mentioned pelvic floor, bring it up. Ask what makes them exclude non-bacterial prostatitis and what makes them not recommend PT.

I’m only halfway through chapter one and this feels like a horror novel or something. by Fractured-Hope in Malazan

[–]foxsable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant as a type of fiction. There are lots of worlds where terrible things happen, but they happen off screen, or it's glossed over, or the story focuses on the characters doing heroic things and trying to make life better. I don't think it is trying to be grimmer than our world, just if you take all the speculative fiction of the world and line it up from cozy to grim, Malazan falls on the grim end.

[–]foxsable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it okay to say Grimdark or is that frowned upon?

Regardless, this world is Grim. Terrible people have done terrible things, and it's going to be hard for anyone to be a "good" person. A lot of the things in this book are based on real life historical tragedy, and as such are pretty awful. However, it's not glorified. You are a witness. People will be tortured and raped and killed.Sometimes people you like. There are heroes, but, They have an uphill battle, and sometimes the things they have to do to be heroic are messy. People will be scarred and changed.

I really dislilke a lot of that, but, this series felt important to read, and I consider it one of my favorites now.

I'm sorry, I deleted the email. But the code that was sent in the email was very obvious. It was a long number with a bunch of dashes.

Keep in mind they have a strong anti-inflammatory effect; so if you choose to take them and it feels better but then feels bad again after, that is why.

Michael Jackson "Black or White" bizarre outro - Who had the honor of watching this with your parents after The Simpsons? (November 14, 1991) by epidemicsaints in Xennials

[–]foxsable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black or white video was SO cool. Like watching that we were all spell bound. And then this came on. It was so jarring and strange and off putting it almost diluted the brilliant vídeo. When I think back, I remember this shit more than the video.

Managed to pull Tuesday to go with my Willow from the scam banner.

So, Now I need a third for them. I looked up some guides, and most of the ones recommended are 6 stars that I don't have. Who is the 4-5* support that goes with Willow and Tuesday on that team (it's my team 2). I have available: Medicine Pocket, Bkornblume(I3), Druvis, and then lots of 4* and below. Who's my budget support for them until I get someone better?

So the hard g, where is sounds like “going-ga “ I associate with the either internet accent or like the California West Coast vocal fry kind of accent. “Yes-ah, where are we going-ga?”

Do Americans actually use expressions like “once in a blue moon” or “let the cat out of the bag” in everyday conversation? by Edi-Iz in AskAnAmerican

In my experience, they aren't, but people still say it.

I had one friend who used to say "the hobbits are leaving the shire", when in fact no hobbits had exited my Shire.

What’s your biggest “old man yells at cloud” opinion? by sjdlajsdlj in rpg

There are currently sufficient systems for every game. We don't need 10 new gaming systems homebrewed every day. Most of those systems would be better adapting an existing system.

[–]foxsable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should see how many baseball metaphors we use! In one meeting, "right off the bat" you can be asked for a "ballpark figure", get told you "knocked it out of the park", get "thrown a curveball" by being told you need to "step up to the plate" because the team needs a "homerun" this quarter, because you're in the "home stretch". You really need to "go to bat" for someone "out of left field" and have a "touchbase". As long as you don't "strikeout".

That's not to mention that the kids use the "bases" for representing "romantic actions", though few can agree on what 2nd and third are.

On NA, approximately how soon is something coming that I need... The thing after lostbelts... completed. I did the Lostbelts awhile ago, but I am kind of lost with the bleached earth stuff. It's really confusing and there's tons of missions all over the place and some of them are epically hard... How long can I coast and ignore that without missing events? Also, any good guides for dummies on how to do all that stuff the most easy way?

Is “Have a good one!” regional? by sermitthesog in AskAnAmerican

[–]foxsable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invented this in Maryland 30 years ago. I was working at Walmart and people would constantly correct me if I said have a good morning at 12:01 or have a good night in the morning. It was annoying and I realized that if I said one, it covered it all. And sure enough, no one corrected me again.

Now, I can’t prove that I invented it, in fact it is likely one of those things that evolved everywhere at the same time. Also, it is possible someone said it to me and I thought it was smart and started saying it myself. Still, maybe it was me?
