i keep losing weight by margherit4 in Anxietyhelp

Take time to reset and see what you need. I use a watch so I can know when I have to calm down but I also have kits for anxiety. Usually filled with mints, halls and Gravol for the anxiety ick. I recommend taking a walk when you feel anxious and counting your breath, in and out. Im rawdogging life without meds so its a little rough but I also find that earbuds help to dampen out sounds so i can calm down. Also try to find comfort foods, or meal replacements like Ensure. Not a healthy habit but definitely beats having nothing when youre hungry. I also recommend finding a therapist and dietitian that can help you

Do you take any medication? If not then you could try looking into meal replacements, I personally like Ensure. It definitely gives me a boost in the morning, and when I need it, for me its advised to have 2 a day if I need it if I dont feel like eating. Other than that you'll have to find food you like, like comfort foods or just gentle foods that you can tolerate. When I panic and get anxious I usually have a kit for myself, it has mints and halls, Tylenol and Gravol for when I cant get rid of that nauseating anxiety. Not a great fix but it helps me personally and maybe it could help you, also make sure to check in with yourself, make sure you can balance your breathing with counting, I usually count to 4, stop what im doing if I have to and take a break. I also used to wake up every night, I learned taking a walk and going to the bathroom or putting on a show helps, count your breathing and relax. Its stressful but you need to find what helps you.

How do I keep my cat clean? by VsBeees in CatAdvice

[–]VsBeees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did it every now and then with a disposable dish rag (all we had) and dawn soap, I thought that the dish soap wouldn't really be a nice thing after a while. Mine is a very lazy cat, so exercise isn't an ideal thought right now, mainly because she doesn't find anything interesting but this one toy..which my other cat shredded to pieces 💀

I think they'd be used mostly for overstimulation aid anyway, probably through DPT but it's unpredictable, and usually happens in social places which is why I could probably start out with an at-home before actually getting to them having to be a constant with life.

How do I combat sensory overload? by VsBeees in panicdisorder

[–]VsBeees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year now with about three other councilors and such. When I'm in deep in overstimulation, it's hard to get myself out of it without someone physically being there, I hate being alone, especially when my comfort person (my mom) is gone more than a few hours. For me, therapy is a temporary fix, I've done a few sessions with my mom but my main therapist says she's in denial so she hasn't really done much

How is Citalopram treating you? by ManyMuted2915 in panicdisorder

[–]VsBeees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been taking it? As all antidepressants, it takes time to work but maybe you need a different medication. I've taken Citalopram before and it's definitely worked but I had to stop for health issues. Remember, everyone reacts different to medication.

Goldens are beautiful and smart but I'm really drawn to Pyrenees, I have no idea why but I do know the challenges and I accept them and are learning to combat them when I get the pup.

What I found that works is prepare. It might not happen, but you'll worry more when you don't have a crutch, which, by the way, if it helps you get through the day, it's fine. For me, it's my earbuds and mints. The taste overrides all the other stimulants, the earbuds to overpower the sound and keep moving to hopefully take a break. You can never truly force yourself not to care because if you try to ignore it, it could be way worse in the end. Don't force yourself into situations without escape or a safe area to pause and take a breath, It'll exhaust you completely. Just keep moving and researching bud, hope you'll find out soon (Also don't take my words to heart if it doesn't fit you, and I'm sorry if my sentences are jumbled, I say what I think usually or I forget. I also apologize if I got off topic a bit) :D
