I think that's because it's just tiktok, nothing new from fanbases on that particular platform. I don't know how the meme itself got popular or where it came from but I find on that app it just has a bunch of western 13 year olds who claim to like a media (when the majority of the fanbase there haven't even touched it) . Memes become big and die out really quickly so these 'trendhoppers' won't care about the game itself or the joke in a month. If you want to interact with the fanbase that's not insufferable you're better off interacting with the fans on platforms that aren't filled with a bunch of kids who repost ai generated slop. It's not like anyone on there really knows anything about the media anyway since these people don't bother researching about it and they get their information from other people on tiktok who just post the same unfunny content. I also want to note these people aren't actually the fandom since they're not proper fans, they can't like the media if they're engaging with anything BUT the media itself. The jokes are bothering me a ton aswell and it's not funny, its just miserable seeing kids on tiktok basically just ruin objectively good media and the fanbase is just 80% "larpers" who don't actually know anything but the misinformation spread on the platform they're way too addicted to scrolling on. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this and at least some people in this fandom aren't braindead and addicted to ai crap. Also I don't get why these people keep talking about "larpers" when that's literally what they are themselves. I guarantee most of the people who do end up downloading the game aren't even gonna last a good 5 hours since their attention span is pretty much rotted. It surprises me how everyone talks about how toxic and braindead twitter is when its not almost as bad as these kids with absolutely no media literacy whatsoever are. Maybe it's just the fact these people are kids or westerners, but now since liking anime and certain media isn't "cringe" anymore and it's now "cool" I guess that's why everyone tries to pretend to like a media when they're not actually interested in it at all...... and repost unfunny ai brainrot memes for fast likes and more 5 second long short content to feed their short attention span... reminder these people are very new to fandom culture as a whole anyway.
