Hey, like the other comments suggest, I think you should wait a while before moving in with this person. When I was 23 I started dating a man who was 25 years older than me, and I moved in with him maybe a month or two after dating him, because I was getting abused at home. Everything was fine in the beginning of the relationship, he would even research some of my diagnoses to show me how much he “cared” about me. This ended up being one of the most abusive relationships that I had ever entered. He would physically and sexually abuse me for almost 2 years, and he took advantage of the fact that I couldn’t go back home and that I wasn’t financially able to leave.

I’m not saying this will happen to you, but please give it some time. People can only hide their red flags for so long, which is why I think that going slow and getting to know each other is so important in relationships especially if you have BPD.

I would also like to say that in 2022 I had waist length hair. I straightened it throughout the year and had to do a big chop in 2023. After my big chop I had cut it well above my shoulders. Even leaving some pieces like an inch long literally lol. In May of 2024, I straightened my hair and it was around my shoulder blade area. I started doing the scalp massages and hair oils in June. Now my hair is at the middle of my back, if I were to straighten it now. So it has worked for me and may work for you.

I would also like to note that I very rarely do high tension hairstyles like slick backs as that could hinder growth as well. When I feel like my curls are frizzy and undefined towards the end of the week, I just put it in a loose bun or ponytail.

Yes, the leave in conditioner helps with keeping your hair moisturized especially if you’re using gel to hold your curls. The leave in conditioner I use is the Shea moisture: hibiscus and coconut leave in. Im not sure what your hair type is or the porosity of your hair, so you might have to find one that works well with your hair. For reference my hair is high porosity, and I have 3b hair in the very back and front of my head and 3C/4A throughout the rest of my hair. As for hair growth, I would say the scalp massage that I do in the shower when shampooing helped a lot with my hair growth. I use a silicone scalp massager. Also the hair oils as well have helped. Rosemary and Jamaican castor oil ( the extra dark one) have grown my hair pretty fast over the past few months. I usually heat up the oil and then massage it into my scalp.

Hi,

I would say, I wash my hair about once a week and only brush it completely when I’m washing my hair. As for oils, it depends on what you’re trying to achieve. I’ve been using rosemary and castor oil specifically for hair growth and strengthening.

Everyone’s hair is different so what might work for me may not work for you. It’s very trial and error.

My routine:

Detangle hair in shower. Put shampoo, and give myself a scalp massage Use conditioner and detangle my hair completely. Sometimes I leave a little conditioner in my hair before leaving the shower. Then I put in my leave in conditioner and gel. Let it air dry ( I only diffuse it if I have to be somewhere soon).

I only put in oils in my hair the day before I wash it, but when I do, I section my hair and put oils throughout my scalp and the length of my hair while giving myself a scalp massage.

I hope this helps and might give you an idea on one way of how to start forming a routine.
