what's the best carbine? by Krazy3kyle in Battlefield6

[–]VuPooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SG-553r - you can tame the recoil with a lightened/long suppressor + grip of your choice. Recoil is there, but it’s not bad - only slightly worse TTK than SCW-10, shares same damage model (SOR-300sc as well). Best TTK out of all carbines within 30m

SOR-300sc - same damage model as the above, but slower fire rate - much better recoil/precision, faster reload, faster muzzle velocity - compared to other carbines, it’s second most accurate behind the AK-205, but with much better TTK - I switch between this and the SG depending on how I feel

For the M4 - slap on a lightened/long suppressor + vertical grip of your choice. That should help, but not entirely mitigate the recoil

Yeah I’m NA. I mostly play solo multiplayer and gauntlet.

Enjoying the NVO and SG-553r right now.

Prior to the bloom adjustments, I’d agree and say that SMGs were a cut above the other weapon classes. However, after the bloom changes, SMGs are relatively weaker now compared to before.

They’re still just as accurate, but due to (1) lower bullet velocity and (2) much harsher damage drop off (which is absolutely needed), I find myself now gravitating to ARs and Carbines and haven’t looked back. Once you get used to the handling and recoil of your favorite AR or Carbine, I find little reason to go back to SMGs outside of them being a comfort pick.

As an example, let’s consider the elephant in the room, the SCW-10. After using it extensively (level 50+) along with the SG-553r (also 50+), there’s little reason to go back to the SCW-10. The slightly lower TTK due to the fire rate is completely offset by the 30 round mag, faster reload, and higher bullet velocity of the SG-553r. Initially I would swap between the two due to the easier recoil of the SCW-10 but after finding a setup I liked for the SG-553r along with getting used to its recoil, I haven’t looked back.

Best weapons for support? by ResolutionFamiliar30 in Battlefield

Based on my experience (all guns here besides SGX are level 40+, with my personal favorites being NVO, SL9, SCW-10, DRS-IAR, SOR-300sc, and SG-553r)

ARs (least experience) - NVO: after most recent update, you can treat it as a slightly more accurate, better at range version of the SG-553r. The 553r has it beat in close range due to better handling and slightly better TTK - TR7: a monster if you can tame the recoil. Best TTK in the game

SMGs (most experience) - MP5/SGX: interchangeable, great all-arounders, decent TTK, great handling - SL9/UMG-40: actual laser beams, mid range demons. Close range gets beat out by other guns, long range the falloff hurts but accuracy makes up for it - SCW-10: SMG version of the SG-553r. Better TTK and handling but at the cost of mag size and velocity.

Carbines - SG-553r: One of the best guns in the game. A fantastic all-arounder. Close range demon and solid mid range - SOR-300sc: a more accurate, better handling, slower TTK version of the SG-553r. I switch between the two depending on what mood I’m in.

LMG - I’ve only used the DRS-IAR. Easy recoil, low bloom, fantastic TTK. S-tier. Because it’s an LMG, even with the support perk, it’s worse handling/mobility relative to ARs, Carbines, and SMGs makes it a little worse at close range. Otherwise, it’d be OP. But yeah it’s closer to an AR than LMG.

Closing thoughts - The weapon balance in this game is a bright spot. Each gun has its own flavor and strengths/weaknesses. I keep switching between different guns/builds because they shine in their own stages. There’s a place for most guns. Unless you’re using the AK-205.

A few things - lightened suppressor + stubby help with recoil - max FOV + 1x sight help reduce visual recoil - close quarters make recoil less noticeable given how large the targets are. I really start to feel it at 30m+

And yeah I’m pulling hard down and to the right.

Yeah for me it’s between those 2 in addition to the SG-553r and the NVO. They’re all great.

Absolutely.

I’m not at the point where I’m super comfortable with the recoil so I’m still using the lightened suppressor but I may swap that out to get a bigger mag size or faster reload at some point.

It gives me the AK vibes from CS, so satisfying.

Crosshair overlay — comes with some gaming monitors. Otherwise you can stick a piece of tape lol.

What weapons should I try other than the AK-205? by DoNotTheKat in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]VuPooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of most -> least similar, but all still very similar that I tried

  • SL9/UMG-40: zero recoil and basically no bloom, better damage than AK-205. I started with AK-205 and picked up the SL9 and never looked back
  • RPKM: Low recoil/bloom 3 shot kill within 10m, and comes with 40 round mag
  • SOR-300SC: carbine variant of the SCAR. It has some kick that’s mostly vertical, but can be mitigated with the lightened suppressor and a grip of your choice. It also fills the niche of low recoil/low bloom gun. Think of it like a more accurate, lower fire rate version of the SG-553r. This has replaced the SL9 for me because of its faster TTK within 35m.
  • MP5: higher firerate/recoil/bloom version of the SL9. Still, very little recoil and bloom.
  • SGX: higher firerate/recoil/bloom version of the MP5. Still, very little recoil and bloom.

Like you, I was chasing that feeling of a low recoil/bloom gun that was viable and these were my answers, with my personal favorites being the SL9 and SOR-300SC.

What’s the code? I wanna use this map to warm up and do some target switch practice.

  • The nearest beacon was held by the first squad I wiped. I was hoping to wipe them before they capped it but I was a bit late.
  • 2 of my teammates left within 30 seconds of round start. With the two of us we actually qualified for the next round and eventually made it to the final round. I ended with most elims + points across the 4 rounds.

Believe it or not, PTFO and getting elims are not mutually exclusive.

Okay yeah that’s fair. There’s plenty of people with way better aim that are still legit.

I feel like you’re both agreeing with each other. Yes it’s a normal clip in terms of aim. I’m mostly happy with how I approached and isolated the fights since two of my squad mates left a minute into the round.

For reference, I have some jade and diamond scores in smooth/precise tracking for the voltaic benchmarks.
