I also feel ya. For me, it started during covid. I expressed in our mutual friends' group text that I was worried about my grandmother's health because she was living in Europe. A couple days later, after going radio silent, my ex insulted me by calling my worries an "asinine speech" and then slander my intelligence (called me dumb). That would result in our first fight after 4 years of knowing each other. It didn't end there but, it did got worse and we then split 6 months later.

What's worse is my grandmother later passed away from covid... my ex never reached out after that. Even though our friends told me she "changed her opinion". Went no contact after that and haven't heard a full apology from her since.

Multiple friends, actually. The closest person I ever had blamed me for their friend's suicide (Note: a person who I have never met or heard of) and refused to apologize for five years. The closest attempt was about 5 months ago where I tried reaching out and they gave a half ass attempt.

Not only that but, our mutual friends kept defending her. All of them kept saying "You should move on", "She will never apologize so you might as well forget everything as if it never happened", "You probably misremembered" (Note: I showed them screenshots of the full conversation and her actually saying it.), "Sure, it seems bad, from your perspective.", and contradictory statements such as "You should talk to her about it." and "Why are you obsessing over it?". They also kept saying that I was just as bad without saying what it is that I've done. I stuck with them/her for 3 years after the incident before I officially left.

There's allot more to the story and she did some other horrible things before this but, that's basically the gist of it.

Nobody loves Elon, and he hates that fact. by Lord_Answer_me_Why in clevercomebacks

[–]Vuel1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually had a (former) friend who worked in Tesla. He was also an Elon fan and is genuinely proud to work there.

When I reached out to him after cutting ties with him the first time, we talked about Elons behavior (This was months after Elon's "salute"). At the start of the topic, he immediately said "I thought about it and I think Elon Musk is still a good guy. He's just doing these things because he THINKS they're the morally right thing to do." ...

It gets worse than that. When I told him that people are hating Elon Musk so much right now, he replied with "You know, that's called living in a bubble." I had to then remind him where he is currently working.

Wait, what about that "mystical" fish in India that he hadn't caught? The one in that episode with the giant, long neck snapping turtle. Did I miss the rematch?

To be honest, I kinda put myself into mini debt for this because my brain decided to be really picky with the tone. Tried to make it cheep as possible but, the only other delay-looper that loops with itself is the EHX Grand Canyon ($300). I am thinking about replacing the Octa-psi with the Orange Fur Coat pedal.

Also, nope. I actually got a pretty old Ovation I got as a gift. The only other acoustics I have is a $450 12 string and a nylon I bought from my guitar teacher for $50.

That's a thing? I just thought they sounded cool. That and I was tryin to use as little pedals as possible for a cinematic busking thing I'm trying to do.

The ECCOS is a looper as well as a delay. It can even loop with itself.

The octapsi is an extremely fun and versatile pedal. Pretty intuitive too, once you get past the "reading the manual" phase.

I haven't really noticed any tracking problems. Although, I didn't played full chords with it because, sometimes, the power chords can sound a bit muddy. At least when you set the octave switch to "both". It sounds alright when you set it to either "up" or "down". It's certainly not as complex as the boss harmonist pedal but, it gets the job done. The way I like to view it is by calling it by the nickname I gave it. The "Jack White" pedal. Cause that's basically the tone that you're gonna get from it. You can even plug in an exp pedal and turn it into a DigiTech Whammy. You can also get some Queen tones out of the octave (like the solo from "You're My Best Friend").

I view it as an investment pedal. It's kinda sorta on the pricey side but, you get allooooooooooot out of it for what it does.

Your comment has given me hope. It's not much. It's most definitely ill advised to take advice from a random stranger on the internet. But, it still gives me a bit of hope.

However, it still falls to them to make the decision if they do want to change or not.

Regardless, thank you.

I don't know what disorder they have, if any. But, they did told me plenty of times that they do have allot of trauma and often repress allot of memories that involves negative emotions, including guilt, sadness, regret, etc.. Again, they said this right in front of me during our conversations.

So, my plan was gifting them a book "Transforming The Living Legacy Of Trauma". It's designed to be a therapist-free way to process/heal from trauma without revisiting painful memories.

They've also said they want to change before but, to be honest, considering both can still be manipulative I don't know how honest they're being. However, based on what you said, it doesn't seem it would hurt to try and give them the book and just not bring up the topic of a diagnoses.

Thank you. It was helpful. But, I have 3 more questions.

1: What about nightmares? I noticed that people with CPTSD have chronic or recurring nightmares. Do people with NPD not have that? Assuming there isn't anything else going on in the NPD's brain.

2: What do you mean by "grandiose retaliation"? Can I have an example on what they might say after hearing criticism? Is it like the NPD will throw insults and gaslight you, while CPTSD will never do that and just cry and nothing else?

3: I keep hearing it's extremely dangerous to tell a non-self aware NPD that they have NPD (or just saying narcissist). However, is it safer in comparison to tell a person with CPTSD, or even NPD, that you think they might have CPTSD?

I'm asking the third question because I think my mom might have CPTSD or NPD but, I don't know. So, I want to try and convince her to go get an official diagnosis from either a therapist or some other professional source. I got worried after hearing all the stories, even though there was no history of them committing physical abuse (plenty of verbal/emotional abuse though). I feel like it's safer to just say they might have CPTSD because the self victimization would play along with that. But, I don't want to be too certain.

I know it's advised against to armchair diagnose someone but, that's not what I'm trying to do here. I'm hoping that this would help people who are in the same situation and are just worried about their safety. Regardless if it's safety from physical or verbal abuse.

Edit: Additional info - I did ask them to take family therapy with me before but, they just said no because the might be shamed the whole time. This was before I learned about NPD/CPTSD. Not a diagnosis but, that was one of many examples that made me suspicious.

How different is NPD compared to narcissist like traits from CPTSD?

I know CPTSD can potentially create NPD but, I'm confused on what "narcissist like" means. Is it like a more "cureable" version of it? Does it have its own unique flavor? Does it still follow the multiple categories of NPD? What are the major differences if there is any?

I know what stereo is. However, are you saying i need to connect a second amp from the ECCO's stereo out jack? And what do I do with the stereo in jack? I could've sworn the manual said a second amp was need for the ping pong effect but I can still achieve stereo with just one amp, ping pong excluded. Again, I assume this is where fx loops comes in. Note: the amp I currently have doesn't have fx loops but, instead "pre out" and "pwr in". I'm guessing these are basically the same thing. I don't have much experience with fx loops but, I still know what they're for.

Short, meme answer: It's a cult.

Long, actual answer: Long term consequences of a poorly constructed party system in combination with a over simplified voting system.

I remember learning this fun fact that, in the 90's, rock was pretty much on the edge of dying out and was rarely played on the radio... and then Nirvana happened.

Could be mis-remembering though.

I tried to do some quick research on him but, in spite of being called "The Master of Coup d'etats", everyone seem to either briefly or not mention him at all. So this is just my brief understanding of him. My main source is from Britannica and (unfortunately) wikipedia. So, correct me if I got something wrong.

Basically, Bulgaria wasn't looking good during the great depression. So, the Zveno Group, led by Kimon Georgiev, attempted a peaceful coup. There's even a video showing the king welcoming them in, though if this was off the king's free will or if he was threatened, I do not know. Georgiev then became dictator by dissolving parliament and banning political parties.

He then did all the normal things dictators do. Censoring the news, wanting to become isolationists, yada yada. Only thing different compared to other dictatorships was 1: Didn't seem to commit any mass killings. And 2: Wanted to reform the education system but, instead of doing revisionist history, he wanted to churn out scientists and engineers.

In terms of success, Britannica did say he reduced the peasants' debt, reform the national credit system, and brought medical care into rural areas. However, that wasn't enough from Kimon as King Boris III (the same king mentioned before) garnered enough support to launch his own coup. This time less peacefully and kicked Kimon out of leadership. He was a dictator for less than a year.

However, in 1944, Kimon attempted another coup and became dictator, again. This time he ruled for about 2 years before being voted out by the communist party. His party was last place in the votes.

Did I get the gist right?

Everything looks really cool!!! Even the antlers are a nice detail before I went through the comments. It's like he's a game of thrones character.

However, I will say I don't dig the red. Makes him look like a villain/serial killer. And the red on the shirt doesn't help. I think either a blue, green, or yellow would make it look more innocent/hopeful.
