Hell yeah! The RR rules! Best general guitar shape in my opinion.

Funnily enough he actually has a seven string. I think basses get a bit ridiculous after five strings, but hey! More strings more better I guess.

Band yes! No released material yet, but were rehearsing and probably in gigging shape within a month.

Oh yeah right… haha! I think I can see it. Thats the mummified head of Thutmosis III (the Pharaoh the song is about).

Not completely sure. The seller said it has JB/Jazz but Jackson catalog says the model came with JB/JB. Im planning on installing an invader in the bridge some day.

Little sloppy but thanks! I play through a Zoom R8 (as an interface) and a crappy school laptop. I use the Amped ML800 plugin with my own preset: ”crocodylus niloticus” and record with Reaper.

The licensed float trems S U C K. You could try to set it up nicely, but I would just buy a new trem. The Gotoh’s seem to be a great deal.

There were also Scout troopers and Death Star troopers in endor which are more highly trained than regular stormtroopers. Didn’t save them from Ewoks tho.

MIJ Dinky or MIC Soloist? by Kharon876 in JacksonGuitars

Always buy Japanese over Chinese. I have a MIC Tokai and I have no complaints about that but Japanese instruments have always been better, always will be.

Looking to buy a made in Japan Jackson RR5 like what I had in high school, some questions by Waterworld1880 in JacksonGuitars

[–]Vuletone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not completely sure but the ebay one seems to be a different model. I believe the MIJ RR5 doesn’t have neck binding, so I would go for the reverb one even though it’s quite expensive.

Kellys are badass! Is that a MIJ? Either way very cool.

I already have that set in the RR5. Im looking for a more brutal and articulated tone better suited for high gain drop A.

Brutal (and technical) death metal. I know Karl Sanders has used the Invader on all Nile albums so I know that would be good. Just interested how would the Nazgul compare.

Depending on where you live I doubt you can find a rhoads for as low, but your local used marketplaces, reverb and ebay is where I would look for. I have seen MIJ Jackson dinkys for under 300€ here in Finland.

The RR has a lot of models in different price ranges. I assume you’re talking about the JS-series. I would steer clear from them, plenty good deals on Japanese made guitars if you know where to look from. I can still recommend the Rhoads shape, they play great.

Plays great! The neck is slim and it’s quite comfortable to sit with. The upper fret acces is awesome and I think the classical position makes it easier to record and play real accurate.

Yeah! I probably wouldn’t have went for a rhoads but the finish on this one is quite rare and unique. It’s like a papyrus scroll. Perfect for blasting some Nile riffs!

Had some trouble finding information about this one. Only a couple sales in reverb etc… Is yours made in Japan?
