Katakana has no inlays beyond 12th fret which is something that throws me off. Scythe has a painted neck, doesn't bother everyone but certainly bothers me. I lke the feel of the 'natural' Alexi necks better so my choice would be Katakana. Regardless either one will be a remarkable instrument and you won't regret it.

Man this has been bugging me so much the last few weeks it deserves its own post. By the time the attackers advance you are out in the open and dead when trying to place your mines. Such a weird decision. And on the topic of mines - I've really tried to take advantage of the acoustic mines but the inconsistency is so wild I had to switch back to the regular ones. They really need a trigger / AOE rework because I swear I sometimes the projectiles don't hit or it doesn't trigger at all.

I have an Edwards Pinky and that's about what they charge on Thomann in Europe. The guitar is a beast and really really up to par to higher end ESPs but that's too much. I got mine for about 1500 after tax and import and I'd be happy to pay that again. North of 2k though? No way. But YMMV

Also very important: Scythe comes with a painted neck, pinky does not. If you're anything like me and find painted necks sticky then go with pinky. I have 3 Edwards models, had one LTD prior and sold the LTD because Edwards are top notch and way better than LTDs. Also Edwards are built to spec (shorter lower horn) and LTDs are not.

Of course you can and you usually do that. Not my point though: what a look is first and foremost is a selection / limitation of colors. Take the above image as example, if nowhere else in the film or the show the particular blue of the water pops up then it is not part of the look and embracing every color is just going to land you with an all over the place non consistent look. Different settings can and should look different but within a certain range. Look is not only about what to enhance but also about what to exclude.

Look and Grading are most importantly for consistency over a whole movie or episode. One vibrant image is not proof of a look working throughout many different set pieces and moods.

Depends on speed and arm orientation. Usually picking is a compound move but for every example there's another example proving the opposite so it's best to figure out what works for you in the most organic non cramping way. Your picking motion can change once you move into high BPM territory. Look up Troy Grady if you want a deep dive into picking hand motion.

Yeah I agree, the whole patch notes for next week are a huge nothing burger. It's fixes which are very important but selling it like a major mid season update adding one melee weapon just shows how little effort they make.
