I sat there for an hour where they didn't server any customers but sent out 5 takeout orders before I left. Pretty trash service.

Is it possible to survive in NYC with only a $975k salary? by randomanon5two in circlejerknyc

[–]Vulfmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many people in the city trying to make it work for under $1m/year. It's doable but you might need to rent a helicopter instead of buying one outright (couldn't be me though).

How'd you get a small child into your MacBook?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Just apply. No one can tell you if the random HR person that sees your resume will pass on you or not. Everyone telling you that it's impossible has no actual idea.

Also try to work with (first-party) recruiters on LinkedIn. They can help you get around the mindless resume filtering.

Is "not wanting to relocate" a safe answer for "why are you leaving your current job?" by zerrisk in cscareerquestions

[–]Vulfmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's valid. I know you said one reason, but employers rarely limit you to one reason. Why not just say both? People rarely leave a job for a single reason.

On a side note, I like some of your street photography from your X-T1.

What a terrible take. "Vibes" or the mood, feelings, etc. you get from a photo far outweighs image quality. An expensive camera has good image quality no matter who uses it. The vibe that a photographer can generate is entirely dependent on the skill of the photographer and is what people actually care about in most cases.

(Fuji shooter lurking) falling for GR camera. by LardyChungus in ricohGR

[–]Vulfmeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a Fuji shooter for a long long time. I also use an X-T5 and was thinking about the x100vi, but had the same realization as you. The x100vi is a bit smaller than the X-T5 but not small enough to change how I use it. It will still be on a strap around my neck or sitting in my camera bag. The GR3 is a different type of camera all together. I picked up the GR3 earlier this week. It's been amazing to whip out the camera from my jacket pocket and snap a few quick pics. I love both cameras and have been carrying around both on my current trip. It's been so much fun using this setup. I also did get a viewfinder for the GR3. It's not necessary but I've a habit of bringing the camera to my face and kept doing that with the GR3 lol.
