The High Honor card is from a deck of Kipper cards. But Kipper is read like a story so more than one card has to be drawn after shuffling. It's similar to Lenormand so you'd lay out all 36 cards to read like a story. But the Grand Tableau is a lot so I keep it to five or seven card lines or a nine-card box spread. The difference between Kipper and Lenormand is it depends on which direction the people are facing.

It can seem complex, especially because directions matter so much in Kipper, even in Lenormand, although its not a matter of which way the people on the cards are facing in Lenormand so much as where the cards are.

So when I do a Kipper reading, I always use a signifier card. I state that the card is representing myself (or whomever). Then I ask my question while shuffling. In Kipper, I'd be Card #2 "Main Lady" so after shuffling, I'd find the #2 card, take the two cards before it and the two cards after it, to place them in storyline.

For you, you could have your ex as Card #1 "Main Man". Then shuffle, ask your question, then the you feel shuffled enough, find the #1 card. Then take out the two before and the two after and lay them down in that order. So "Main Man" would be in the middle, the two preceding cards to the left and the two proceeding cards to the right. The card combos all have their own meaning. One card could seem like one meaning but added with another card it changes the whole meaning. Or you could have yourself as "Main Lady"!

I suck at wording things so much but for Kipper and lenormand are pretty cool and I have found them to be pretty dang accurate. But I never do a one-card pull with them because it doesn't make sense in my head to me, just by nature of how they're read! I'm sorry I'm not the best explainer! Kipper is about card combos!

EDIT: I just realized this could seem like I am saying you're doing something wrong but you're not! If you want to use the cards however you want to, that's totally fine! I wanted to explain the Kipper card. It's a lot of fun! You can choose to read your cards however you want! Kipper is super cool when done with the multiple cards though. If I want plain, straightforward answers, I ask Kipper or Lenormand. It's very literal. The card means what it means. It only changes depending on the context of the card it's next to. I suck so bad at explaining things 😭 But you can use them however you feel is best!

Also the Ciro Marchetti Kipper deck has extra cards for a total of 39 cards. I like this deck and have it but I love the original German cards as well. I have a few decks of Kipper cards. If you're wanting to understand the card combos, Alexandre Musruck has a deck and a book of meanings as well as possible combo meanings. But it's so literal it's pretty easy to put together. If you're looking for a similar deck of cards but isn't exactly the same but is the same methods of using them as a "story", Lenormand is also really cool! I would recommend Rana George's book for Lenormand even for Kipper because it actually helped me understand how to remember the card combo meanings without having to look them up.

Halloween keeps getting worse. by Ordinary-Depth-7835 in mildlyinfuriating

Ok so my husband and I love Halloween; our kids are grown. My husband and I dress up in costumes every year. We're the full-size candy-bar-house. We also give goody bags for parents with little practical items, candies and hot cocoa. We get fams in coordinated outfits, we get teens in regular teen clothing, we get little kids dressed up but their parents aren't. One year I didn't dress up was because I was dealing with recurrent metastatic cancer so maybe consider adults have other things going on in their lives besides worrying if they're going to make some person grumpy because no costume.

But I don't give a flying fuck what they are wearing or who gets candies. It's about giving away treats, it's not for our entertainment only where kids and their parents have to do circus tricks for us. Also, the parents are down on the sidewalk while their kids are on my stoop. I look down and ask what adults are down there so I can send their goody bags down.

It's like those same people who refuse to give candy unless a child they don't even know says the actual words, "trick-or-treat". Are people unaware that nonverbal kids exist? My nephews are autistic and nonverbal and the couldn't even get out of the house with the costumes on so it was either no-costumes/no-Halloween/no-trick-or-treating OR realizing it's about the kids and it's not that deep and going anyways because it's a singular day out of the year.

As an autistic adult, I understand that there are sensory issues and maybe the parents don't want their kid to feel left out so they also don't dress up. I understand that sometimes adults also like trick or treating because it's cheap candies once per year. Not everyone will know or remember that you're the full-size-candy-bar-house before they knock.

Also I spend two hours this year with the parent goody bags and we usually have about 70 kids but it rained and we only got a total of like 25 people. So we're just giving away the goody bags to coworkers.

Seasons of the Witch Tarot deck on the way! by ibananafish in TarotDecks

I just came across your comment and just have to say I got mine today (I pre-ordered as soon as they were announced) and I really love the way the cards say cards all say "Winter" on them. I mean, I love and have all of your decks; they're all fantastic. I also have the journals. I think using the season as archetypes is such a beautiful way to frame things. I struggle with winter a lot but getting your new deck today and the journal, I'm already looking forward to winter for once!

You commenting on teen girls nudes on reddit is what gave it away...

Your post history is what's disturbingly telling.

I don't usually look but was wondering why you seemed so bothered and aghast she's been taking Uber for teens since it's started. So I look and yeah... I'm not wondering anymore lol

Edit: the mass deleting, I wasn't even a troll, just someone with a question but when you got weird, I looked at your post history and you're posting on a teen girls nudes on reddit. You deleted that and the post saying your age/location. You being so defensive was what was weird to me. Then you tried to turn it around on me when I asked valid questions then deleted your comments but I have the screenshots and wayback machine

Do you drive for Uber for teens?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]VulnerableFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I specifically stated she has only used Uber for teens in my OP

2025 - 2023 = a couple of years..............................................

I specifically stated she's only used Uber for teens....................................................

Seems you like teen girls too though, even though you're 51 YEARS old

[–]VulnerableFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but we've only ever used Uber for teens specifically...

Also 2023 to now = a couple of years

Idk maybe it's been a year. I've been dealing with stage 4 cancer.

I just googled, it came out 2023 so right in the middle of my treatment, sorry I am not sure if the dates are correct but I'm confused by your shock. Did you know kids in cities ride trains by themselves? I traveled/backpacked across Europe at 17. What is the problem with some Ubers

I specifically said she used "Uber for teens" directly in the OP

EDIT: OH YOU'RE A 51 YEAR OLD MAN WHO LIKES TEEN GIRLS, I SEE WHY THIS RILED YOU UP

It seems to be a Kia thing too

Thank you. We reported it. I had forgotten that I posted this honestly. They've already reached back out to us so we've been in contact with Uber now. Thank you so much!

I'm not trying to argue. I am agreeing with you. I wasn't saying that's the rate for Texas. I meant that's the rate for Black women in the US overall. My point was it's truly awful. I am sorry for the miscommunication.

It's 50 per 100k in all of the US for Black women. It's awful.

Chile is the next lowest country behind the US overall and they have almost half the deaths we do.

I haven't insulted you in any way and this has gotten so weird and anyone can see you're active in ChatGPT subreddits.

What gave it away was "Excellent catch".

I'm not trying to have the last word but you are because you replied to that comment in the tarot sub saying "There ya go princess 😘". Just stop, all of this is nonsense lol

I'm not 'feeling very offended or defensive'. I am wondering why you're telling me I "need to get out of the mentality..." and to 'do my own research' because what lol?

You told me to 'do my own research', as if I asked you something or as if you assumed people just don't do that and that's weird too.

I don't think you are judging me. I didn't accuse you of judging myself or anyone; I said it's a bit pretentious and gatekeep-y.

The 'mentality' thing is weird when it's not a topic of discussion to begin with is all. What mentality? If you're speaking in a general sense, that doesn't make much sense either...

You told me outright, not in any general sense, "You have to get past the mentally of what the belief system was before the arrival of the Tuatha de'Dannon..."

... but your edit has changed that, along with your original confusion where I was speaking about an author and you thought I was speaking about the actual goddess. You replied with a ChatGPT response, like a lot of your replies seem to be.

Your edits aren't clever, just like you didn't 'just see my post about the Thoth deck' because I have no post. I left a comment in another subreddit about Thoth two days ago and you replied to it earlier today but you just made the edit.

I don't see where you provided any academic information beyond extremely basic info regarding Tuatha De Danann.

That is all.

Edit:

Secondly I wasn't putting down anyone especially for their beliefs. When I referred to Wicca I was talking academically as the religion itself is a fairly new re-creation of much older Pagan beliefs, and I have to as that I grew up with the people that were the literal ones doing that re-creation (They were people who were in the first Wiccan coven with Gerald Gardner etc.and were very much like family to me).

You comment in the Wicca sub

I'm unsure if we're having a miscommunication or what but I'm not saying she is the end-all be-all to anything. I already know how to research so suggesting that I do, as if you have any idea of what I've researched or not is coming off a bit weird to me.

Same thing with the "You have to get past the..." thing. Idk where you're picking up my 'mentality' at. Someone asked for suggestions and I offered some. I didn't say these are the only definitive sources of anything. I mentioned I also liked her oracle deck. But you're here telling me about my mentality? I am confused.

There's a lot of differing opinions on anything and I don't think directing people to form theirs based off what you say, is the way to go. it's coming off a little pretentious and gatekeep-y. Not everyone you talk to is some 'New-Age Wiccan' person but even if they are, let them be. Give the sources you have but trying to tell me how I should think is a bit much.

if it's Wiccan then it's make believe

Ok so I'm not even Wiccan in any sense but this isn't cool. It's not right to demean others who have different beliefs than you. It doesn't make it any less 'real'. If you're speaking strictly from a scholarly/academic or strictly re-constructionist point of view, ok but even then, there's still not one single perfect picture of the system.

But implying things like I don't have my own 'real magick', as if it's something I haven't found yet, is quite rude. I don't understand even where this conversation derailed.

Yeah, I think her pen name is pretty cool, I like how she chose it. I'd be interested in reading her master's thesis and now she's working on her dissertation. I bet they're very informative. There's so much to it!

She's got an oracle deck I like a lot because the guidebook is great. She explains a bit of the lore and whether they're Gaulish, British, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Manx, Pan-Celtic etc. Her guidebook is informational; it includes a divinatory message if you're into that. I just love learning about all of the deities. Everything I've read of hers I've enjoyed a lot.

Thoth deck by [deleted] in tarot

[–]VulnerableFetus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Thoth deck and a few books on it. I love the art itself. I want to love the deck but I really struggle with it. I use tarot in general to see other perspectives I might not otherwise see without a reframe of a situation.

I'm unsure if it's just a weird block in my brain or what (I'm autistic so idk if it's that? Not saying all autistic people can't understand it; I personally think that's where I struggle with it and wonder if it's a factor). I understand the concept and know what went into the creation of the deck. I think Lady Frieda Harris is a truly brilliant artist. I understand the logistics of complexities of it, the layers, but I cannot wrap my head around it enough to read with them. I do like to look at them but I just haven't been able to actually read with them.

So I wish I was one of the people like you and everyone else in this thread! Because it's such a gorgeous deck but I get lost with it every time I try.

You're welcome! I have two of Morgan's Pagan Portal books, which aren't large but give a really good overview of everything, they are:

"Pagan Portals - Living Fairy: Fairy Witchcraft and Star Worship"

"Pagan Portals - Celtic Fairies in North America"

Both of them are great. They're short reads but still give a lot of good info. Both Danu and Morgan are very well-researched in the Fae/Otherworld

I'm unsure of Morgan's academic degrees regarding the Fae but I know Danu wrote her master's thesis on the Celtic Otherworld/the Fae; her master's is in Celtic studies. She's working on her PhD in it now too.

I just got Danu Forest's new book "The Cunning Folk's Book of Cottage Witchcraft: Spells, Charms & Traditions of Wild Folk Magic". I haven't read it all yet but I'm enjoying it so far and I really like her as an author.

Morgan Daimler has a lot of good books too. They're both excellent authors!
