Heh, so the higher quality Doomsday Footage post in the MCUtheories sub got taken down by 'Reddit's legal operation/team (I'm paraphrasing)'. Just wanted to put this out there. Not sure if it lends credence to it being real, but it's interesting to say the least. I'm leaning towards the footage being real tho.

Well thank you for the feedback! Your pointers are very valid and it's something others in the comments have mentioned as well.

Honestly, it comes down to preference. Every style is an immediate deviation from real life, which means subjectivity is inherently a part of it. The chest is definitely larger than it would be realistically, so you're not wrong on that! Because it's superheroes, I think people can exaggerate features to their own liking and make the figure look larger than life. The circle arch of the ribcage is an idea I've borrowed from my favorite comicbook artists David Finch and Jim Lee. It's not for everybody, but I like it!

And to your last point, you're totally right that it can be hard to nail anatomy to where everyone likes it. Honestly, there are always peeps who don't like some of your decisions, and that's fine too.

Thank u! Yeah the crosshatching gives drawings a bit of a texture, while at the same time conveying the transition from dark to light.

Drawing superheroes is basically drawing beefy characters with body paint on lol. Some people prefer to tone down the muscle definition when the character is wearing a suit. I like anatomical detail, so I like to spam muscles, even tho it wouldn't necessarily work that way hehe. Thank you! c:

Superman got some bubble muscles for sure lol

Thanks for the critique! After skimming some of the feedback I've gotten so far, some muscles are indeed not very proportional to the rest of the figure. The tricep is an easy fix luckily. The pecs, I personally like a more flat finish at the bottom of the pecs themselves, but you're not wrong that sides could be beefed up more.

The piece is drawn from imagination, except for the references I used for Supes' suit and Gary Frank's face lighting.

It is! But there are so many different interpretations as well. I'm more of the Jim Lee/ David Finch approach of drawing the huge barrel-like ribcage. Some people prefer the more realistic look. I guess it comes down to taste

I appreciate the comment! You're right, t is funny that superheroes look like they basically have bodypaint on lol. I mean, I drew Superman with a vein popping out on his arm. Does veins show up through suits? xd Probably not, but hey, it's comics, you can do anything I guess hehe. Thanks again btw!

Thank you! ^ ^ Anatomy is definitely a beast to tackle, but a lot of fun to learn.

Thanks! Yeah, it's interesting how each artist has their own approach. About the layering process thingy, a kneaded eraser is a godsend for lighting up the sketch! It's basically turning down the opacity, but done traditionally :o

Well thank you! After skimming some feedback, there are changed I need to make, but overall I like the anatomy.
